She demanded that he cancel his plans and accused him of breaking a promise he had supposedly made months earlier

An entitled woman who rudely rejected a photographer's offer of a free photo shoot ended up in the most unflattering situation very soon. In an August 1, 2026 Reddit post, a friend of the photographer (u/Gymtrio2025) shared the story of this incident that has since garnered over 1,900 upvotes. At the time, the photographer was reaching out to close acquaintances offering his services for free. Instead of a simple no, thank you, the snooty woman barked at him insolently for no particular reason. But as karma would have it (or so it seemed), the woman was in dire need of his services.
Entitled woman demands my friend drop his plans he’s booked months in advance to help her

“I already have a photographer! To use another photographer is cheating! Don’t ask me or offer me another free photo shoot again,” the woman screamed at the photographer when all he did was offer his services. Then the other day, the woman’s own photographer was unavailable because they "accidentally booked her on day she forgot she is going out of state." They also told her that if she "really" wanted the shoot done, the woman was free to book with any other photographer. So she reached out to him instead. But of course, he already had plans for the weekend.

“I’ll be at Comic-Con both days I can’t help you and I can’t help in general because you told me explicitly you don’t use other photographers because you consider it as you put it cheating on your current photographer,” the photographer told the haughty woman. She immediately twisted her own words by responding that it wouldn’t be counted as cheating if she had her photographer’s permission to hire another photographer. When she insisted that he say yes, he explained that he already had non-refundable Comic-Con tickets and had promised to spend the weekend with his nieces and other family members.
She then demanded that he cancel his plans and accused him of breaking a promise he had supposedly made months earlier. The photographer, to his credit, calmly responded, "Promise? No, no, you turned down my offer, and you said what you said. Stop acting like you’re entitled to my time that I’ve committed to my family, especially my nieces whom I haven’t seen in months." She continued arguing, but he stopped responding.

A researcher who had been studying entitlement explained in an article in SPSP that the behavior of entitled people doesn’t just hurt those who become their target, but themselves as well. “Entitled people have high expectations that often go unmet, which can lead to disappointment and psychological distress,” wrote Emily Zitek, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Zitek added that entitled individuals often have difficulty maintaining positive relationships, and they usually believe that they are being treated unfairly.

Readers advised the photographer and his friend to refrain from engaging in any explanations or arguments with a woman so entitled in her ways. u/Global-Hair-810 commented, “A simple no would have sufficed.” u/SheeScan explained, “Explaining why just provides fodder to argue. I always go with just 'No.' When I am asked for an explanation, I ask why they want to know. Usually I get a never mind, because it's not convenient to say you want an explanation so they can argue you into changing your mind.”
