Kristie has been praised for showing her honest reaction to the news of her pregnancy, even if it wasn't the most ideal because many resonated with it.
Finding out you are pregnant could be immensely overwhelming, irrespective of whether it is good news or not. Processing that another human being could be forming inside of you is not easy to digest. No matter how predictable, the result can be unbelievable. Feeling a little shock is inevitable but what we see on the internet is mostly excitement that comes right after seeing a line on that pregnancy test. A TikTok user's candid reaction to finding out she's pregnant at 32 has resonated with a lot of women online. Kristie (@astylechild), a 32-year-old fashion creator based in Columbus, Ohio, shared the reaction video she recorded of herself when she found out she was pregnant.
The video captioned "I only had to check about 300 times" has been viewed more than a million times. Kristie explains that the video was taken with the intention of recording her "cute" reaction. "I recorded myself taking a pregnancy test because I thought I would have this cute video like everybody else," she explains. "But this is what happens when it takes you three to five business days to process your emotions." The video clip proceeds to show her genuinely honest reaction to finding out she was pregnant.
Kristie notices "a faint line" on the pregnancy test, which she examines from different angles. She rereads the box's instructions before digging through the trash "to compare to yesterday's pregnancy test." She goes over the test several times. "Should I wake up my husband?" she muses as she realizes she may be seeing a faint line. "Is 32 too young to be pregnant?" she wonders.
Later on, Kristie seemed to be accepting and pretty happy about her pregnancy. Kristie has been praised for showing her speechless reaction to the news of her pregnancy, even if it wasn't the most ideal because many others felt similarly. "I got pregnant at 33 and was really like 'I’m not ready to be a teen mom'" shared @bettyborroto. "Mine were the reddest fattest lines I’ve ever seen. I had the nerve to deny it and take like 6 more tests," commented @user6239771277006. "The silence makes this so good," wrote @imaniathome. "Is 32 too young to be pregnant? YES THANK YOU. I am 31 and struggling with the same question in our marriage - it was affirming to see," resonated @73737373.

According to a 2019 report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, women in their 30s are having more babies than women in their 20s for the first time in history, which is due, at least in part, to the financial hardship that many millennials are experiencing. According to an article in Deseret News where they quoted the CDC report, "the increase in the mean age in 2021 reflects, in part, the decline in the number of first births to women in their teens and early 20s and the concurrent rise in first births to women in their late 20s, 30s and 40s."
