While scrolling through old photos, the woman realized that the universe works in mysterious ways and that she had photographed her partner before actually meeting him.
There's a popular saying that suggests everyone’s path is shaped by a touch of fate. Sometimes, life amazes us with tiny secrets that eventually unfold over time. In a strange yet heartwarming development, a woman went viral for revealing that she unknowingly photographed her now-fiancé weeks before they actually met. Isabel Klee, who runs an Instagram blog account called Dogs & the City (@simonsits) dedicated to animal care, was recently scrolling through some of her old pictures when she finally realized she had unknowingly captured her future partner before they officially met.
“I took a photo of him before I ever knew him. I promise it's not as weird as it sounds,” Isabel’s voice narrated as background music played in her video, showcasing the serendipitous discovery. The New York City resident was amazed by the unexpected connection the universe spun between them long before the couple decided to get married. The four-year-old photo captured a stunning evening, with the sunset spilling into a pink-hued sky.
Isabel took the shot while on a walk with her dog, Simon. They were both sitting at the edge of a park, beneath the silhouette of trees, as she captured the scenic moment—accidentally framing a runner in the shot. Two weeks later, she crossed paths with the same runner—who would soon turn out to be the love of her life. “He was kind and smart and funny, and falling in love with him was the most obvious thing I had ever done,” she shared.
As Isabel narrated her story, the video featured scenes of her journey with her partner, Jacob, celebrating their cherished relationship. “I didn't know it when I took that photo, but that runner would go on to be the single most important person in my life,” she added.

The one-and-a-half-minute footage also highlighted Jacob's proposal to Isabel after a marathon, as he knelt to ask her to marry him. “It makes sense that our engagement would be an ode to the city we both love. It makes sense that he would run a marathon, a huge accomplishment, and choose to make the day about us and not just him,” said Isabel, heaping praise on her partner. She could not stop herself as she added, “It makes sense that when he got down on one knee, he promised to keep running toward me for the rest of our lives.”
Isabel admitted she wasn’t prepared for the proposal at all—her nails weren’t done, she didn’t have the perfect outfit, and she hadn’t had time to think of the perfect response. “But, I did have the perfect person. The person I want to run toward day after day after day,” she concluded her heartwarming monologue, leaving social media deeply moved, with 64,231 likes on the post within 24 hours. “You’re really just out here living a damn Hallmark movie, and I couldn’t be happier for you both,” @bully.ballo commented. @tellingourtails remarked, “The greatest story - a reminder that love is what we need, what holds us together.”
