Indie decided there was no chance of her putting up with the company's absurd policy about her uniform so, she quit.
Having a good job means is the greatest thing a person can achieve in their professional life. But it is not an easy task. When employers, managers, colleagues and customers make one question their worth, it becomes important for them to say two magic words, “I quit.” No one should be at the receiving end of disrespect, exploitation or even have to put up with anything that holds even the slightest traces of injustice or inhumane treatment. TikTok user @indie_kay shared how she quit her new job because of the strangely cruel policy of her company.
Posting a video, Indie said, “I’m gonna quit a job as much as I want to.” She elaborated and said, “If I don’t like working there, I don’t like the vibe, I’m gonna quit,” referring to her reasons for quitting her previous job. She then said, “I just got charged $1350 for my work shirt at my new job and they didn’t tell me they were gonna charge me.” She casually said that she was going to quit this job, making it clear that she was not about to take any unjust policies just for the sake of compliance. She expressed that it was rude and said, “Why would you do that?”
Indie then highlighted reasons as to why she had left her previous jobs, all of which seemed quite genuine. She mentioned that she quit her job once because a lady kept starting a fire in the kitchen and the management chose to do nothing about it. She added, “I’m also quitting this job because there’s really no parking. So I don't want to have to pay to park where I work.” Several employees agreed with @indie_kay’s decision to quit. Commenters highlighted the unfair situations many are forced to comply with just for the sake of stable employment.
@snuggleball said, “These businesses need more people to do this. Let them know they can’t get away with these things.” @haleighandlinus shared her experience of a cold and heartless workplace as she said, “They 'knew I could cover this shift if I really wanted to’ when I was making my newly widowed grandpa a Valentine’s Day dinner. No call and no show for life.” Indie is known to have quit her job for not tolerating the ridiculous policies companies set up. In a recent video, she shared a throwback of when she quit another toxic job back in 2021. She captioned her video, “On this day” as she proudly shared why she quit.
The woman said, “Extra spicy hot take. If I am getting more abuse from a boomer racist co-worker than a customer, I do not wanna work there.” She elaborated on how her coworker was being unapologetically more abusive than the customers: "If the coworker yells at me more than the customer does and their apology is, ‘Yeah, I told you I was a b**ch’ I do not wanna work there.” Indie has been quitting jobs like these as she thinks that being unjust and inhumane just because someone is your employee is a big no.
