The woman from China made a detailed presentation of her boyfriend's affairs and posted it on social media for all to see.
Dealing with a cheating partner can be quite a difficult thing. However, a woman in China did something most people would have rarely heard of: expose her cheating partner in the most spectacular fashion. She made a 58-page PowerPoint (PPT) detailing her partner's interactions with 300 women over a year. The exposé is going viral on the Chinese social media site, Weibo, according to South China Morning Post. The woman's long PowerPoint reportedly garnered as much as 300 million views on the social media platform.
The woman accused her partner, known on the internet by his surname, Shi, of engaging in sexual activities with several women and cheating on her for more than a year. The women also included sex workers, as per the outlet. The woman discovered the first concrete proof of Shi's cheating when she found explicit messages he had sent to several women in June this year. The couple had started dating in October last year and everything was going well in the beginning. The woman's identity is not known. It is known that Shi worked as a management trainee at China Merchants Bank's Shenzhen headquarters. According to the woman, Shi had made nine visits to sex workers between March and August and paid them 2,500 to 5,000 yuan (US$350 to US$700).
Her PPT presentation also revealed romantic messages exchanged with women Shi had met on dating apps. Also, it consisted of photos of him from his encounters with the said women. Shi had recently graduated from the School of Economics at Xiamen University and was part of a program offered by China Merchants' Bank to train young people for leadership roles that come with good pay and great job opportunities. However, in September, the bank terminated his employment and expelled him from the Chinese Communist Party after the report was posted online and looked into by the authorities. The woman first confronted Shi when she discovered his affairs in June but forgave him when he promised not to do it again.
He requested her not to tell anyone about his indiscretions and the woman agreed for the sake of his parents. However, she eventually decided to retaliate when she discovered that he had started cheating on her again in September. The woman also expressed that she would report Shi's involvement with prostitutes to the police and other concerned authorities as it is illegal in China. However, as she posted unverified information online, it might be seen as an infringement of privacy, as per Liao Hua, a lawyer at China's Taihetai Law Firm. The entire situation has grabbed people's attention online.
"This is what a powerful woman does: never forgive, never trust again, and make him pay for his disloyalty," a person expressed. A person involved in prostitution might face 15 days of detention or a fine of 5000 yuan or $750 as per China’s Public Security Administration Punishments Law (PIPL). At the same time, the woman could be punished under China’s Personal Information Protection Law for posting the information online, as per Bored Panda. According to this law, personal information is defined "as any type of information that relates to individuals who can be identified from it, excluding anonymized data." However, it doesn't specify what comes under personal information.
