Imagine you’re at a crowded event, stuck in a tide of human beings, when you suddenly realize that your phone is missing. It could’ve slipped from your pocket, fallen under someone’s feet, or ended up in the hands of a stranger you’ll never meet again. Most of the time, there’s no getting it back, no chance of reuniting with what you've lost, but in this case, someone took the time to return it and made sure the owner knew it was safe. Reddit user u/miggy6868 shared what happened in a post with the caption, "Thank you to this kind person for returning my wife’s phone. Hit me up, we’re getting you a drink." Alongside the message was a screenshot from a video showing a man with sunglasses on, a drink in hand, looking directly into the camera.

The user explained in a comment that the man in the video had left a message saying, "Don’t worry, we got your phone." This alone stood out since most people who lose their phone never see it again, let alone have it brought back to them by a kind stranger who leaves a reassuring message. Research shared by MS Power User shows more than 60% of lost phones are simply misplaced — whether it's left on a bench or dropped in a crowd, the odds of getting it back depend almost entirely on who finds it. For young adults, especially, the risk is much higher, with 45% of people between the ages of 18 and 24 having lost a phone.

It wasn't long until this case took another interesting turn. Soon after the user's post went public, the man in the photo saw it and commented using the tag u/actualrg, "This is me!" to which the author of the original post quickly replied, "Dm me!" Others also joined in to appreciate the man for his act of kindness. u/ComprehensiveTip9733 replied to the thread, stating "You gained +1,000,000 aura points for this one. Thanks for helping keep the vibes high!!" u/NocturnaIistic wrote, "Guy is the MVP of Coachella." u/DONKEYHUGGLES added, "Yes! I love positive humanity!" u/duckguyboston joked, "Looks like a cleaned up Pete Davidson. Love cool actions like this. This guy rocks!"

What made the moment memorable was how it brought people together — online and in real life — through something as simple as doing the right thing. Random acts of kindness are sprouting all across the world, as another story claimed that a stranger went out of his way to return a woman's lost purse. Her mom, Kim, shared that she heard a knock at her door and found herself face-to-face with someone she didn’t recognize. He greeted her politely and explained that he had found a wallet at a nearby parking center. At first, Kim thought it was a mistake.

Then he showed her a photo he had found inside the wallet. "Oh my god, that’s my daughter," she exclaimed, as he simply handed the purse over, made sure it was safe, and left. The video, captured by a Ring doorbell camera, was later posted to Instagram, where people praised the man’s effort and integrity. "All the cards are in there — everything," he had said, reassuring Kim that he had no malicious intentions and genuinely cared for the well-being of others. Wanting to thank him properly, Kim uploaded the video to The Neighbors App with the note, "I wanted to share a heartwarming act of kindness. If anyone recognizes him, please let him know a neighbor gave him a shout-out." In an exciting turn of events, the man’s girlfriend saw the post and identified him as Deronta, after which Kim got in touch with him, and the two families connected.
