This woman's online followers decided to help her learn a few words and phrases from a popular video game so she could successfully prank her gamer boyfriend.
Gamers take their hobby seriously. Whether it is about learning the cheat codes to utilize in a game or learning the specially designed language, featured in many fantasy or dystopian worlds in the games. Nevaeh Marie–who goes by @nevaeh.ma.rie on TikTok–shared a sweet video where she decided to prank her gamer boyfriend by learning some lines and phrases used in the popular video game "Elden Ring." Marie's boyfriend was taken aback and thought that his girlfriend might be playing the game in secret otherwise she would not have known the lingo from the game's world.
However, his boyfriend had no clue that Marie's online followers were guiding and instructing her with the language so she could baffle her boyfriend. Marie walked into the room while filming herself. She followed the advice of one of her followers and said, "Erdtree's Blessing" instead of "Good morning" when her boyfriend greeted her. He looked at her, eyes wide open as he tried to figure out what was up with her. "Oh, is it the fire giant?" Marie questioned him out of nowhere. "Personally, I think you are ready to fight Mesmer." Her boyfriend got distracted from the game he was playing and asked, "How do you know about Mesmer?" Marie confirmed that everyone knew who that was.
Then she delivered a line from a character called Margit in the "Elden Ring" game and Marie's boyfriend dropped the PC mouse to exclaim how she knew about that character. "If you keep dying and don't get your act up, then you are going to end up maidenless," Marie delivered a few more references familiar to the "Elder Ring" players. After throwing in a few more character names and analogies, her boyfriend finally wondered if she was playing the "Elden Ring" game without him knowing. "I have my shoes. Grab your shoes before we leave. I'm gonna go rest at the Site of Grace real quick and then no later than five minutes, or we're gonna be late," Maire concluded and her boyfriend stared at her with his mouth hanging open.
According to the official website of the game's publisher, Bandai Namco Entertainment, "Elden Ring" is directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and co-written with "A Song of Ice and Fire Author" George R. R. Martin. The action role-playing game is available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. For those not well versed in the world of fantasy video games, some have made up languages used by the players in the game. As for "Elden Ring," the NPC and playable characters speak archaic English in most cases. The comment section of her video collectively cheered Marie for putting in the effort to make her boyfriend happy with something related to his gaming hobby.
@irisgidgaparicio commented, "I know this is meant to be funny but I find it just adorable how he is so befuddled by her sudden knowledge of Elden Ring lingo and yet equally impressed by her comments." @dinoblake wrote, "It's the fact you put effort and time into doing something he cares for and loves. He's confused, but he's also happy things like this make him happy." @verysickyvicky shared, "That boy is so confused about whether he should be geeking out with you or seeking a priest for you." @boss.mare.314 remarked, "I don't know Elden Ring, but his reactions were fantastic enough to say you definitely said what needed to be said!"
