The internet reacted strongly to a woman's tone-deaf display of wealth and extravagant Christmas gifts from her husband.

While love isn't measured by the price tag of gifts, some partners go above and beyond to make their loved ones feel special by showering them with lavish presents. For them, it's not about the cost, but the joy of surprising their partner with something meaningful. However, Dubai housewife Linda Andrade (@lionlindaa) recently faced a wave of online criticism after posting a TikTok video proudly flaunting the extravagant Christmas gifts given to her by her husband, Ricky.

Though she is Muslim, Andrade unapologetically shared that she celebrates Christmas in a way she claims could outshine even Christians. "Why are you all asking for clothes and shoes? You should be asking for..." she teased before unveiling the luxurious gifts her husband had given her. Among them was a stunning Bvlgari Serpenti bracelet watch, which she flaunted while quipping, "It's better to have your snakes on your wrist than behind your back." She went on to playfully recommend asking for extravagant gifts like an apartment “to escape your rich husband when you are bored” and “diamonds” for Christmas.

Andrade defended the idea of asking for an apartment as a gift, suggesting it could always be rented out if unused. "Ask for diamonds. Life isn't sparkly does not mean your jewelry can't be," she said, showing off her massive diamond ring. Taking it a step further, she quipped, "You could also ask for a yacht. I don’t think your husband would say no and if he says no tell him to talk to my husband.” As the TikTok video gained traction, Andrade upped the ante, advising her female audience to aim even higher—suggesting they ask their husbands for a private island.

"You could also ask for a private yacht. We are private people so this makes complete sense. We are not Christian. We just celebrate for the gift side of things," Andrade concluded as she posed with her husband. The now-viral clip sparked heated discussions among netizens, with many criticizing Andrade's display of wealth. For instance, @kari_the_clown wrote, "Why all the expensive stuff had been recorded in the stores, not at your home? Hérmes’s bag, Bulgari’s watch, etc." Similarly, @jazzy.lopez5 wrote, "There's a main reason why we celebrate Christmas. It was never about the gifts. People just love taking away the point of things. It's our Lord and Savior's birthday."

Notably, Andrade often referred to her spouse as her "rich husband," sparking mixed reactions from viewers. @pasteldiva suggested, "You should call him 'My loving husband instead of rich… I am sure he loves you to spoil you like that. Lucky girl!" On the other hand, @fiona_hoosen wrote, "As a Muslim, I think you have lost your way. Money and wealth do that but learn to embrace your religion wholeheartedly." @gmar801071 wrote, "Girl, not everyone's in the same tax bracket as you. Some of us actually need clothes." Upon seeing such lavishness, @honestbanks3 commented, "I wish life was fair."
