Demonstrating the trick that she just learned, the woman wondered why she hadn't used it all this time and the internet felt the same.
Running through the aisles of the supermarket, loading the shopping cart, unloading it at the checkout counter and finally transporting them to the car - grocery run is one overwhelming task. However, it can feel less tiresome if we have a few savvy tricks handy like organizing our lists based on aisles and bringing our own shopping cart to the store. Turns out, some supermarkets making grocery shopping simpler for their customers with this special feature on the shopping cart. Stevi & Becca, a lesbian couple who share their lifestyle on their TikTok handle @age_gap_lesbians0 recently discovered this shopping cart trick.
The 8-second video features an empty shopping cart and one of the wives demonstrated the trick. "I was today years old," the text overlay reads and the woman explains that she had no idea that the shopping cart had an opening gate at the front. Holding the front barrier in the shopping cart, the woman pulls it up and it effortlessly detaches. After which she lays it down flat on the cart and voila! We have an exit way for the groceries to be transferred to the checkout counter. "What!" she exclaimed wondering how things would've been easier if she had known this before.
Some users shared the same bewilderment as the shopper. "I was 51 years old today when I found out!" said @rockingrobinohio73. "Not me going to the store just to try it out," added @christine8782. However, many explained that it was a feature that shopping carts from the 70s and 80s used to have. "Tell me you didn't grow up in the 70s and 80s," mentioned @mpiper123 to which Stevi responded that Becca was born in the 75. "Those are tall carts from the 1970s, so cashiers could slide things off the cart," pointed out @calderman1220. "These old-school carts were the best racing carts. We’d run really fast hop on and fly down the isles. One could do some carnage with those carts, wrecked a boy's car," chimed in @lahillbilly.
Speaking of shopping cart tricks, one Millennial dad made an ingenious purchase to transport groceries from the supermarket to the car so effortlessly. Olivia White, a lifestyle content creator–who goes by @olivialaurawhite on TikTok–revealed her husband's trick to avoid the hassles of carrying heavy grocery bags and risking the handles to snap. As per White, it was a "Millennial Dad's version of the Nana shopping cart," which resembles a normal shopping cart only with detachable baskets.
@olivialaurawhite Now it’s his turn for the random purchases 😂 I must say, his are a bit more practical 😆 @Clax Cart Australia Do we rate it?! 😜 #shoppingcart #foldableshoppingcart #aldi #claxcart ♬ original sound - Olivia White
Made of plastic, the cart has two tiers with a tray in each tier holding a basket in which groceries can be filled. It not only can hold twice the amount of groceries as a normal supermarket shopping cart, but the baskets can also be detached and placed conveniently in the trunk of the car. The man demonstrated the cart's handiness with his shopping experience at Aldi's and when he simply unloaded the basket without having to take out the groceries, it seemed like a win. He doesn't have to bother carrying heavy bags from the car and into his home too.
