In the video, the husband fully commits to a ballet dance choreography to distract his wife from the pain she was experiencing.
Going into labor can be a stressful experience, and this stress can significantly impact both the mother and the baby. While important measures are available to help in these situations, sometimes simply lightening the atmosphere with humor, helping someone stay present, can make a meaningful difference. That is exactly what Jezlyn Bearden's (@jezlynbearden) husband decided to do when she asked him to "distract" her from her labor contractions.
In the video, the husband fully commits to a ballet dance choreography set to what sounds like a traditional song accompanied by Powwow drums. "He delivered so I could deliver! The commitment, the choreo, the execution!!!" Bearden captioned the post. "Side note don’t freak out baby is NOT coming today—I was treated for preterm labor but they managed to slow contractions, so I’m going home! It’s been an eventful day but all is well now."
People in the comment section quickly noticed his finesse. "That high kick tells me this ain’t his first rodeo," wrote @pekit0s_. "That’s a confident hetero man right there and we love it," added @liggylow." I understand that your husband clearly has some type of actual dance training, but regardless, I believe this should be required of all expectant fathers in the delivery room," commented @dalice.den.
Seeing the sheer number of comments praising her husband's dance skills, Bearden later added a comment that reads, "To answer your questions, my husband was a classically trained Ballet dancer! He was truly gifted and went pre-professional, danced in Asia and in other parts of the US before he stopped years ago." Others simply appreciated the gesture, "You married the right man," wrote @xastrial_secretsx. "Where’s the green flag guy???" added @mrsbrohm. "Ate, left no crumbs, even the baby was impressed," joked @mommyfirstofficial.

In another story featuring a new mom named Alyssa (@alyssa_jane01 on TikTok), she revealed how her Tinder match supported her through childbirth and her first few days as an anxious new mom. In her video, she shared how their romantic date was "dampened" by her water breaking, but he made sure she was safe. "Max and I had been together for eight weeks before he came to my birth," she wrote. "And out of those eight weeks, he'd probably only gone on three or four dates with me, the fourth date was him coming to my labor and birth and delivery."
She also admitted it was a bit stressful, as she worried he might break up with her. "We only had a couple of dates. We [didn't] know each other very well at this stage. His family didn't know about me or anything like that. But long story short, he ended up coming and basically being my biggest support. I was 19 and I was alone. Max stayed with me because [the hospital staff] thought that he was the dad, [so he could] stay in the maternity unit. And he didn't protest anything when they did call him dad. He just went along with it," she explained in the video.
