Woman hired a loyalty tester to flirt with her realtor boyfriend. He almost passed — but one question caught him out

Lily insisted they grab drinks after work. Rather than shutting down the invitation outright, he said he was keeping his options open.

When a woman began wondering whether her partner of two years was genuinely committed or merely playing the field, she didn't initiate a late-night confrontation. Instead, she slid into Lily (@lillyloyaltytests)'s DM. She asked her to run a sting on her boyfriend, who is an Atlanta-based real estate agent. Under the guise of a prospective client relocating from Charlotte with a $2,200 budget for a Midtown apartment, Lily then reached out to him. Although he held his ground for the most part, the interaction took a murky turn when she asked him one question. Later, Lily posted the entire interaction on TikTok on September 13, 2026.

The loyalty test

The sting operation began after the girlfriend privately reached out to Lily on Instagram. Posing as an out-of-town marketing director planning a relocation from Charlotte, the loyalty tester initiated contact with her boyfriend by asking about a Midtown loft and its associated HOA fees. The man responded promptly, clarifying that covered parking was included and highlighting the neighborhood's walkability near Piedmont Park. He kept the dialogue strictly focused on logistics. The boyfriend then inquired about her move-in timeline and confirmed that her $2,200 budget aligned well with the available properties.

A flirty house call

Once the preliminary housing questions were resolved, Lily shifted the focus toward his day-to-day environment, asking whether he typically conducted property showings alone. He acknowledged he usually handled them himself, saying it "comes with the job." Seizing the opportunity, Lily asked point blank whether he had a partner. The man said, "I do, yeah." When asked if his girlfriend ever worried about flirtatious clients, he laughed off the concern. Refusing to let the conversation settle, Lily turned up the pressure by directly asking how he would react if she were the one flirting with him. He took that bait without pulling back, typing, "Lol, I kinda figured," but remained willing to show her properties. That opening gave Lily room to push further, proposing they grab drinks once the viewing wrapped up. Rather than shutting down the invitation outright, he hedged his bets. "Let's see how the showing goes first," he wrote. When pressed further, he said he was keeping his options open.

'It's complicated'

Lily then shared the recorded exchange back to the girlfriend, describing the outcome as complicated. While the agent had acknowledged his relationship early on, his reluctance to firmly turn down an evening date proved fatal. That one response crushed their two-year-long relationship. "Two years and this is what I get," his girlfriend wrote. As it turns out, most in her place would've done the same. According to a Talker Research survey, 34% of Americans consider having a secret friendship cheating. Meanwhile, 36% consider meeting someone one-on-one as infidelity, which this man was about to commit. Similarly, a similar share (33%) said that "fantasy messaging" such as "what if we were single" with someone also counts as cheating.

Closing the deal

Contrary to that, the people in the comments thought that the man was just looking to close the deal on the house. For example, @sellwithgabrielle commented, "This is a tough one. I think he really wanted the sale & was probably like, 'Whatever, this girl needs an apartment but gonna leave after I show her...' I don't think he would have gone for the drinks. Conundrum for sure." At the same time, @b_fay_music noted, "Dude just wanted that sale money; this is aggravating."
