Christmas is the festival of joy and love. It's that time of the year when more is merrier. However, for one young lady - the celebrations also included a possum hiding under her Christmas tree, of all the places in her house. Brett (@brettbratt359) shared the video on TikTok, however, she never anticipated the clip to go viral. In the video, she can be seen wondering about how the possum got into her house and up her tree because she didn't even leave her doors open.

In another video, she can be seen sharing close-up shots of the possum and calling it cute, all while still wondering what to do. She posted yet another video explaining the details of what exactly happened and how she finally managed to get the possum away after the first video gained traction. The story goes something like this: She had come home from work and heard a sneeze as she was working on her couch. She assumed it to be one of her pets and ignored it. However, it happened again and louder this time. But there was no sign of her pets anywhere. That's when she noticed a big tail when she was looking near the window. When she followed the tail's trail, she saw a "giant gray breathing ball of fur." Out of fear and shock, she called her boyfriend who proceeded to tell her where the rubber gloves were - in case the possum bit her or was grumpy.

She said, "I get the gloves and I grab around his body and I start trying to pull him out of the tree." Now since possums have hands, this little fellow was holding on to the Christmas tree for his life. No matter how hard Brett pulled or even tried to lure him with food, he wouldn't budge. She finally decided to remove his fingers one by one until he had freed his grip on the tree, but not before pulling the tree and the ornaments on it down with himself. He then started running and went under the couch. Every time Brett moved the couch, the possum went under the other. After 5 or so rounds of this, right before she almost gave up, Brett decided to give it one last go. She moved the couch and leaped on the animal and to her amazement, she was able to get a hold of the possum and calm him down.

She also mentioned that while she did call animal control, they didn't show up till hours later. Since Brett herself was an animal lover with a lot of pets, including a few dogs, a cat, a couple of snakes and even a bearded dragon, she said how she would have just kept the possum had he not been smelling so horrid. The comments section was full of fun reactions. @tress said, "Girl, I can’t even kill a spider let alone take a possum out of a tree." Another user, @elizasray, said, "I literally have left my house because a bee flew in one time. You belong on Survivor," and a lot of us resonate with that feeling!
