You may know Dashiell and Fox Messitt, the six-year-old twins who play the role of Tommy Fuller Jr. on the sequel of Full House on Netflix. What you probably haven't heard of is their amazing backstory and how it mirrors Fuller House in the most wholesome way. Kacy Andrews, their mom, opened up on their heartwarming surrogacy story. She had been struggling with infertility for years and unsuccessfully tried to have a child with her husband Jack Messitt, reported People. After six unsuccessful attempts at artificial insemination, they decided to adopt Sawyer, their oldest son. However, in a couple of years, they started trying for a baby again. Kacy and Messitt were left disappointed and drained after having to go through the same issues.

One night, Kacy was having dinner with a friend, Inez Venus-Contreras, and opened up to her about her struggles with infertility. They had known each other for close to 30 years after having met through the Big Sisters of Los Angeles, a program that helps children follow their passions and encourages them to achieve success in life. Kacy and Inez became close during the program. Kacy shared her woes of being unable to get pregnant and mentioned to Inez that they had three frozen embryos. That's when Inez casually said she'd be a surrogate for them.

Kacy was left speechless by the offer. “I was telling her the whole saga of me trying to get pregnant again, and out of the blue she said, ‘I would totally have a baby for you,'” she said. At first, she assumed it was an impulsive call from Inez. “As she was getting ready to leave, I said, ‘Would you really have a baby for me?’ and she said, ‘Yes, I totally mean it,'” recalled Kacy. She asked Inez to think about it for a little longer before deciding, considering it was such a huge commitment. Inez was sure and confirmed the same to Kacy, who was overjoyed.

They completed the necessary paperwork and the medical testing before finally going ahead with it. Inez was inseminated with a single embryo to limit the chances of having twins but, as Kacy wrote on Instagram, "God had other plans." The video of the moment Kacy and Messitt find out they're having a baby will move you to tears. They're overwhelmed with joy as Kacy breaks into tears. Inez gave birth to Dashiell and Fox on December 5, 2014. They have since gone on to become household names by starring in Fuller House. The fans of the series were surprised and moved when Kimmy Gibbler, played by Andrea Barber, offered to be Stephanie Tanner’s (Jodie Sweetin) surrogate. For Kacy Andrews and the Messitt twins, the story was all too familiar.

Kacy, who had over 30 years of experience as a producer in the entertainment industry, knew her kids would be great onscreen. She hired an agent for them but was stunned when Dashiell and Fox Messitt landed parts on Fuller House. They've been part of the series for more than 5 seasons now. “I would say destiny has a plan for them and we’re just along for the ride,” said Kacy.

Kacy and Jack are indebted to Inez for her generosity and love. Kacy is also hoping that her story inspires those struggling with infertility to explore other options. “I just hope that for women struggling with infertility, that they know that there’s so many different options,” she said. “And I just hope that if somebody really has a dream of building a family, they shouldn’t give up on that dream.”
