Woman gets the most wholesome welcome gift from her 98-year-old neighbor across the street

Moving into a new neighborhood can be overwhelming for many people. But it gets easier if the neighbors are welcoming and accommodating. Fortunately, this was the case for Kelly McDuff who moved into a new neighborhood and was welcomed by her 98-year-old neighbor with the sweetest gift. The woman who goes by @kellyann2339 on TikTok took to the platform to talk about the kind gesture and show people the neighbor's wholesome way of welcoming her family.

"We just moved into a house and my 98-year-old neighbor just dropped off a cake to welcome us to the neighborhood," the text overlay on her video read. The woman was pleasantly surprised at her neighbor dropping off a beautiful chocolate bundt cake to welcome his new neighbors. The man lives across the street from McDuff and has been in the neighborhood for 52 years. "[He] hopes that we love it as much as he has," the woman wrote. At one point in the video, the woman looked on the verge of tears. The brief clip received more than 13.6 million views and people took to the comment section to appreciate the neighbor's kindness.

So sweet." @throughthecameraglass expressed, "Ours brought us an ice-cold pitcher of TANG. I didn’t even know they made it anymore. It made us feel like kids. Block grandparents are the best!"

In an update, the woman shared how she was going to make a lemon pie for her neighbor to do something sweet in return. "I am excited to go see him and get to know him more," McDuff expressed. "So, if you're watching this and you think that this is something sweet and something cool, go meet your neighbor. Go knock on their door," she added. "Bake them some cookies, everybody loves cookies. I hope that he likes this lemon pie. I don't know why I chose that." She then got to baking and showed the finished product in the video. McDuff walked across the street to give the lemon pie to her neighbor.

"Hi, I met you yesterday," the woman said, greeting her neighbor. The man then recalled how she was the person who he brought the cake to. "I decided I wanted to make you a lemon pie," McDuff shared. "Bless you, sweetheart. I love lemon pie," the old man said, filled with excitement. The woman was really glad that she had made something that her neighbor enjoyed.

"You didn't have to do that but I am glad you did," the old man warmly added. "I really loved your cake and it was so sweet that you brought it over, made me feel very welcome," the woman replied, thanking the old man. The man also said that he would gladly introduce her to his stepdaughter if she wasn't asleep. McDuff even gave her contact number to her neighbor in case he needed any help.
