Real Estate investor Morgan (@herewithmorgan) took to Instagram to reveal a neighbor challenged her about property lines and ended up regretting it big time. She believed that her video was a timeless lesson for everyone to "never let some man’s loud 'confidence' override your data." The video was posted on April 18, and it received 751K views.

Aggressive neighbor

Morgan explained that her neighbor challenged her property line and constantly claimed it began from Morgan's wall. He even arranged his tires against the building to block other tenants from using the backyard. Morgan wanted to have a civilized conversation to come to an agreement, but he had no interest. He "lost it, yelling, swearing, and having a total meltdown." Instead of arguing with him, she quietly "pulled the receipts." "I've already filed with the city. We got the survey completed. We got the locates booked, and we're putting up a fence this week." It turns out the property line actually took up half of his driveway. She sarcastically wished him luck, saying, "You're gonna have to park on the road, it looks like." The ironic part was that Morgan was moving out of the place soon, and the issue wouldn't have mattered much, but his behavior made her go through with it.

Another mansplainer

Morgan had to make a "Part 2" video to address another man's (@sports_nut100) mansplaining. He wrote, "Ever hear of a prescriptive easement? You may be in for a surprise. Definitely could affect closing." Cornell Law School described prescriptive easement as "an easement acquired through open and notorious use of an owner’s land which is adverse to the owner’s rights, for a continuous and uninterrupted period of years." In simple words, he said the neighbor could claim the driveway even though the property line said otherwise. Morgan immediately shut him down, "There used to be a rule that if you were using a driveway for over 20 years, you could claim it as your own. The man's only lived there for three years, buddy. You really think I put up a fence and didn't check my facts?" she concluded the video.

Why do neighbors argue over?

Disputes between neighbors are unavoidable. A survey by FindLaw in 2013 revealed that at least 42% of Americans have disagreements with their neighbors. The most common reasons are due to noise (48%), pets (29%), children's behavior (21%), visual nuisance (18%), and property boundaries (17%). The survey also revealed that the majority of people solved these disputes by talking with the neighbor (49%), some involved the police (27%), a few went to court (4%), and others took other types of action (4%). However, only a small number chose not to do anything (14%). In Morgan's case, she tried to talk it out with the neighbor, but his behavior made her turn to the officials.

Several people in the comments could relate to what Morgan went through with the rude neighbor. Some even shared their own stories. @destinibreedlove_ commented, "Our landlord just threatened our neighbor that if he keeps cussing my toddlers and me out, not only is she suing for harassment and trespassing, she’s gonna get the property surveyed. She owns half of his garage and driveway. I’m excited." @chelsejuanita wrote, "It's always the people who are the loudest who are wrong."
