In the world of work, few things are as nerve-wracking as receiving an HR call. We’ve all been there: getting a call from HR and feeling like you’re in the middle of a workplace drama. Just imagine it, you’re going about your day when suddenly, you find yourself in an unexpected conversation with Shelly from HR. This is exactly what happened to Totsionna—who goes by @wesickandtired on TikTok—who became the star of an unintentional workplace saga when her absenteeism and tardiness led to an unforgettable HR call, getting her fired.

Imagine getting a call like that, you are surely to be anxious so was Totsionna, she was immediately on edge. Let’s rewind a bit to understand why this conversation took such a turn.  Totsionna had struggled with punctuality many times before and the HR too mentioned their earlier talk regarding Totsionna's tardiness. Her clock-in times were less than ideal: on July 18, she was late by 12 minutes late, on July 28, it was 21 minutes and on August 8, she clocked in 32 minutes late. Each of these infractions was met with explanations that, while understandable, didn’t quite fit into the strict framework of workplace policies.

Shelly’s next words were a punch to the gut, “So, unfortunately, your employment is going to be terminated today.” Totsionna was caught off-guard and was shocked. “What?” she replied, trying to process the news. Shelly laid out the reason: Totsionna had been late several times, and now it was catching up with her. On August 12, Totsionna didn’t show up at all, which, as it turns out, was her birthday. The fact that she had already informed HR about wanting the day off was dismissed as irrelevant to her tardiness issues. “That was my birthday,” she protested. “Like, I already told you.” Shelly's response? “Everyone works on their birthday. Even I worked on my birthday.”

The call was a clash of personal issues and strict company rules. Totsionna's reasons for being late were understandable, but that didn’t change the company’s stance. Her frustration was clear when she said, “That’s crazy.” Shelly’s stance on punctuality was firm, leaving no room for exceptions, while Totsionna's excuses, though heartfelt, did little to sway the decision.

If you think "Oh this is weird" it's not just you, while she might have posted this video hoping to get support on the internet it completely backfired for her. "I was rooting for you, We were all rooting for you! but when Shelley kept going.. sis termination was expected," said @create_hobbies. "Shelly is too nice to you I would have been like a girl do you hear yourself?" asked @alexisjoy86. "You are not supposed to be late for work like ever that’s the point lol," added @certifiedlovergirl2222. "Everyone hates HR but imagine how frustrating it must be to deal with people like this who have no respect for themselves or others," added @deejaneiro. "lol am I the only one who thinks that to be successful in life in anything you have to take attendance & time serious," asked @shannybby12.
