Alexis Rae Driscoll peeked at a stranger's phone and spotted something that prompted her to rescue her friend

The ultimate friendship test for a woman named Alexis Rae Driscoll (@alexisraedriscoll) unfolded in a bar when she stumbled upon something she was never meant to see. It all began in a crowded bar in Nashville, where she was with a friend. Her friend had just met a cute guy, and before long, they were hitting it off. When the clock struck midnight, it was the man’s birthday, and he asked Alexis to take a picture of them together. What happened next was pure chaos. Alexis shared the entire story on Instagram on June 4, 2026, and it has since been viewed by over 76,000 people.
While her friend felt like she was sharing great chemistry with the man she had just met, Driscoll felt an intuitive gut feeling that signalled something was off about him. However, since she had no proof against him, she had to keep quiet. Nonetheless, at midnight, the guy handed her his phone to have his picture taken with her friend. Driven by her persistent bad feeling, she decided to open his messages. Although it might not have been the most ethical move, her intuition turned out to be right. The man had received a long and affectionate "Happy Birthday, babe" text from his girlfriend.

Stunned by the text message, Driscoll briefly panicked in the restroom before running back to the bar, only to find her friend and the man had vanished. "I'm now running up and down Broadway, trying to look for my friend and this guy," she said. Thankfully, after a frantic search, she was able to spot them. But she quickly noticed that they were holding hands. This prompted her to ask her friend where she was going, to which she revealed that she was headed back with the guy to his hotel room.
To disrupt the situation somehow and tell her friend about the man's double life, Driscoll lied about wanting her help to find her phone. But before she could get her out, the man suggested that he would also come with them. She then looked him dead in the eye and said to him that what she said was "girl code for explosive diarrhoea." Well, that wasn't enough to get this man off her friend's back, as he asked for her number before she left.

Ultimately, as the guy refused to take the hint, Alexis completely bypassed the subtlety and exposed him, stating that she knew about his girlfriend. The sudden confrontation caused the guy to break down in tears immediately as he begged her not to ruin his life before violently throwing his phone away. "After he threw the phone on the ground, he asked my friend to use her phone to call his buddies," she later revealed. However, this wasn't the end of it. After all this, the man reached out to her via text the next day.

This was by no means a one-off incident. In fact, according to a study conducted by the American Survey Center, a staggering 57% of women and 44% of men believe that cheating in the country has become more common than ever before. This isn't much of a surprise given that the internet is filled with stories about people getting cheated on by their partner. A YouGov survey also found this to be true, with 50% of their male and 58% of their female participants confirming that they've been cheated on at least once in their lives.

Nonetheless, with Alexis seeking answers to whether she did the right thing or not, the people chimed in. @kaycstroh wrote, "110% in the right (but as an extreme girls girl I probably would have taken it one step further and also sent the girlfriend a pic of him kissing her)! So yeah…don’t even question it, girl; you did the right thing for them both and could have been way meaner to him." At the same time, @goldielox3115 asked, "Can you be my best friend lol you’re the bomb girl that was the right thing to do."
