The woman was delighted to engage with a stranger and thought she could take things forward but it ended in an upsetting way

To everyone wondering why there’s a popular line going around — “Where do men find the audacity?” — this story might help you understand why. A woman named Mikala West (@mikalawest) was trying to be a good friend after she saw her friend meet a man named Mike at a bar in Huntsville, Alabama. Sharing the clip on March 30, West captured her friend and the man enjoying themselves and hopped onto the trend of asking the internet to find him. That's when his wife, Laura, discovered the video, reported The Daily Dot, after which she responded to her cheating husband like a boss.

In her clip, West mentioned that her friend and Mike found each other after the rodeo at the bar. They danced together before getting a little cozy with each other. The chemistry only pushed West to ask the internet to help find the man. They only had the one video of him and knew that his name was Mike. So they were hoping that users would work their magic of networking and find him. What they thought would end with an Instagram profile took a concerning turn. In a comment, Mike’s wife, Laura, exposed him and said, “Oh, that’s him, the guy I said forever to 10 years ago.” She further noted he had some explaining to do, especially to his two children. In an update, West and her friend, Cheyenne, sat down to clarify things.
Cheyenne first apologized to Laura, informing her that she had no idea he was married. West noted that though the man had a tattoo on his wedding ring finger, since he was covered in tattoos, they thought it was yet another casual one. They were just trying to have a good Saturday night and chanced upon him. The duo noted that they were naturally social and regularly engaged in conversations with strangers. Unfortunately, what they thought was a “magic moment” turned out to be a tragic one. The night went on, and the man didn’t reveal he was married and went on to take pictures with Cheyenne and exchange numbers.

West clarified that they had no intent to break up a marriage or family or interact with someone who was committed. She justified it by sharing how, around the same time, she was introduced to another friend and immediately noticed his wedding band and knew she had to steer clear. Even the video was posted with the intent of finding this dreamy guy's profile.
Meeting someone worthwhile through clubbing or similar outings is almost rare, according to data from CBNC. Blaine Anderson, founder of Dating by Blaine, thought that bars are one of the “worst” places you can meet someone. “You have nothing in common with them besides the fact that you are in the same location,” she added. Survey findings shared by Hims revealed that 82% of Americans met their partners through an in-person setting. However, from this percentage, only 7% met at a bar. The highest was 14%, who met in-person through family or friends.

Grace Lee, founder of A Good First Date, highlighted, “What were the steps you needed to take to get where you are? You like to drink. Maybe you live in the area. And you have enough money to buy a drink. The bar is quite low for going to a bar.” Many shared their empathy and reached out in unison to support Laura as she navigates her relationship further. @barbarahowie7 wrote, “I’m sorry, I hope your babies are okay.” @breanakhadijah added, “You will rise above this, rooting for you.”
