A daughter rediscovers her father's heartfelt apology note 15 years after a fight, which now holds even more significance after his Parkinson’s diagnosis.
Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, we tend to get harsh on our parents without knowing their perspective about the situation. Later, regret often sets in as we introspect and realize that our guardian angels were right in offering their advice. Similarly, a woman recently shared how she got upset with her dad around 15 years ago. The daughter got married earlier this year, Teann Sydney Williams—who goes by @teannsydney on TikTok—got her hands on an old note written by her now-ailing father after their verbal spat.
In a widely circulating video, Williams unveiled the note her dad wrote after their fight over some issue. She discovered the note that her dad slipped under her door that “perfectly represents” the latter’s generous personality. “When I was younger, I got mad at my dad for something that I can’t remember,” the text overlay reads along with the childhood picture of her father. Even though Williams later apologized for getting mad at her father, she still regrets her uncalled-for behavior.
However, the dad being a parent not only forgave her during that time but also made a heartwarming gesture. “Dear Teann, I'm so sorry about today. I love you more than anything!!! xo Love, Dad. We cool?” read the note he slipped under her door. Notably, Williams shared the incident after she heard of the “That Sums Up Who My Dad Is” online trend. After her post started receiving attention on social media, Williams recalled that the confrontation with her father was over her tennis serve. The teen back then had lost a match, as per People, and wrongly blamed her dad for the defeat.
“I remember saying this so vividly. I was so upset, and obviously, I didn't mean it, but I got so mad I blamed it on my dad. I was like, ‘This is all your fault. I hate you. This is why I lost,’” she told the outlet. On the contrary, Williams’ dad, aged 56 at the time, did not lose his cool and went straight to his room after coming back home from the game. He, later that day, wrote the special note dedicated to her 12-year-old daughter in the hope that she’d get convinced. Additionally, the content creator’s dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease when the former was five years old. Yet, the man never showed his weaknesses in front of his family.
Williams had her dad attending her wedding earlier this year in a wheelchair. The moment was special for the daughter as her father was still recovering from an accidental fall he had in 2022. “Two years ago, when my dad's illness rapidly progressed, I didn't think he would be here to see the day I got married. Although this moment may have looked different from how I imagined as a little girl, it was nothing short of perfect,” she wrote, adding another video of her walking down the aisle with her dad. Among the variety of reactions, @busypeggingyourdad remarked, “As a woman whose father has never once apologized to her in her life, this made me cry. You have no idea how lucky you are.” “He was probably stressing out about it all day before he gave you that card,” @ssairachaa added.

Having my dad at my wedding and being able to hold his hand while I walked down the aisle was an answered prayer. I will cherish these sweet moments forever. Not only was he able to be a part of the ceremony, but he surprised us all when he lasted all night. It’s safe to say that he had the best time at our wedding🤍🕊️ @Seanson ♬ suara asli ||| BARU BELAJAR NGONTEN - Wafee
