Have you ever unexpectedly come across something heartwarming? If yes, something just like that happened to this thrift store shopper as well.

Thrifting is a wonderfully sustainable habit that everyone should inculcate in their lives. Moreover, there's more to it than what meets the eye. When you donate clothes to a thrift store, not only are you saving the future by being sustainable but also sharing a part of yourself with the world and the same goes when you buy something. Izabela—who goes by @grandmasnosejob on TikTok—shared how thrifting can somehow give you an insight into the beautiful lives of other people that you could never know about otherwise.

In a wonderful video, the camera shows the viewers a beautiful jute-like knitted sweater that seems to be hanging on the rack at the thrift store. The caption of this video reads, "Made by Grandma? With Love?" with lots of crying emojis. Priced at $10.49, this sweater seems priceless, all thanks to its tag. The tag reads, "Made by grandma. With love." Izabela came to the thrift store and came across this sweater which seems to be made by a grandma somewhere for their grandchild, which is the sweetest thing ever.

Even the people in the comment section agreed, all while sharing their own stories of grandmothers making things for them to show love. @lesbijstwo commented, "I am an optimist. The grandma is the one who drops items at the thrift store, just so people can wear her sweaters made with love." @ahgdia.td said, "I once found a scarf with the tag still on it saying something like: 'I hope this keeps you warm when hiking-grandma.'"

Meanwhile, @caffe1ne.add1ct1on confessed, "The way I would never let go of something like this made by my grandma." Sharing a happy memory with the internet @sallytox said, "I use my grandmother's handmade scarf every day for school now since it's cold. She is so happy that I wear what she makes." @trixare4leftists commented, "I'm 23 years old and still have my blanket my nana crocheted for me when I was born, even though it's pink. I still have it. Jesus."

In another similar story, a thrift shopper ended up with a whole box of grandma's secret, old recipes. The shopper shows off the small yellow tin stuffed with recipes for dishes like bread pudding, fruit cocktails, and a holiday trifle. The notes in the box were handwritten and had all of the family's secret recipes. While there were many recipes to try, the shopper shared some standout recipes, including rice krispies treats, banana bread and a Reuben chicken casserole, which was dubbed "some excellent comfort food."

Instead of purchasing a recipe book, this shopper now had access to a whole tub of unique, tried-tested-and-loved family recipes that can be passed down to the next generation, all thanks to a wonderful thrift store. It is one of the reasons why one should promote thrifting because it is more than simply buying stuff. It is buying a piece of someone's heart they chose to share with the world at large.
