Scared, the guests decided to sleep in the same room to confort each other

Airbnb guests checked into a property in Dallas expecting a normal stay, but something about the ceiling in one of the rooms didn't sit right with them. Upon investigating, they were shocked to find a strange door-like structure overhead. Curious, renters investigated further and, accidentally, uncovered a hidden room attached to the roof. A woman, who goes by @mich3113.0 on TikTok, posted the video on February 15.

When the woman came across the weird structure in the ceiling, she informed fellow guests to investigate further. With the help of two men, a guest climbed onto the ceiling and opened the door to unveil a secret room over the roof. "I think I am going to die in this house," the woman confessed, reflecting on her experience in the "worst or creepiest" Airbnb in Dallas. On February 28, she returned to TikTok to post an update video, revealing how the guests coped with the haunting situation. Instead of using different rooms, all of them slept in the same room to ease fear. "We were not able to get inside, but we did in fact sleep all together with the door locked at night," the woman shared in the caption.

Airbnbs can be a safe choice for travelers looking for affordable stay options, but they can sometimes turn into creepy experiences. In fact, security has been a major concern for many renters. A study (published in the journal Marketing Science) on 4.8 million Airbnb guests across America found that 0.5% of respondents mentioned safety concerns. Among these, 48.08% shared concerns about possible risks in the vicinity.
Similarly, the thought of possible hidden cameras also makes guests very uncomfortable. Another survey of 1,000 Americans revealed that more than half (58%) of people are scared of hidden cameras in vacation rental properties. It was also revealed that 34% of customers search the property looking for cameras, and one in four have spotted one. While 20% of the respondents found a camera outside, 5% found it inside the property.

Meanwhile, reacting to the weird Airbnb room, @nonashayy commented, "There's zero reason for a part of a house like this to exist; the only reason that can be possible is for the wrong thing. So I know 100% at a certain point, this was used for something not legal." @jayrawhh suggested, "Airbnb houses should be checked by a team of professionals before they are allowed to be used." Similarly, @heyyou77777 said, "At least you had people to check it out. Imagine you’re alone and can't look up there! I'm losing my money and running. Bye.
