A video shows the funny moment when cats realize they’re on camera, and viewers add their own funny comments and voices.
In today’s world, where cameras are everywhere, it often feels like someone is always watching us. This feeling doesn't just stop with people, it extends to our pets too, especially when we leave them home alone. Many of us worry about whether our pets are okay or if they’re up to mischief while we’re out. Small pet cameras are a brilliant invention for pet owners. They let us check in on our cute little kitties, and even talk to them for a bit or keep them informed. Kassandra Di Cosola—who goes by @francoisthemainecoon on Tiktok—shows just how aware our cats can be.
On July 12, Kassandra Di Cosola, 29, and her fiancé were out enjoying cocktails when they checked their pet camera to see what their cats were up to. They were surprised to find her cats doing something unexpectedly cheeky. "I spy on my cats on a daily basis, I find it hilarious to see what they are doing when I'm not home." Di Cosola, from Toronto, Canada, shared with Newsweek.
The owner of a stunning red Maine Coon named Francois had a hilarious moment when she checked in on him and her other tabby using her pet camera. The reaction she got was priceless, the cats stared right at the camera as if they knew they were being watched. She posted the video on TikTok with the caption, "When you spy on your cats with the pet camera and they know you’re watching. Sad but hilarious at the same time.” She noted that it was the first time the cats had looked directly into the camera, but she now thinks they’re starting to "catch on" and realize they’re being watched.
In the hilarious video, you can see her trying to hold back laughter as the camera shows her kitchen counter. One of the cats is sitting right in front of the camera, looking directly at it. Even funnier, it seems like he calls Francois over to join him. The ginger Maine Coon hops up and starts sniffing the camera, clearly curious about his owner's spying tactics.
In an email to Newsweek, she shared, "As soon as we opened the camera app, Louie was already staring at us. We couldn't stop laughing. Nowadays, when we check in on them, we often see them hanging out near the camera or even sleeping close to it."
People watching the adorable video quickly chimed in with their thoughts and even gave voices to the two felines. "Cats…….'Come look at this...somebody come look at this!'" commented @winstonlewis3. "Cat be like 'Carol, come over here. See this is why can't trust no Airbnb.. this wasn't disclosed,'" added @los95crod. "The stare. The judgment. The cattitude translation: fluff you, Linda," said @user2707822933198. "They know what a camera is and they are not happy," prompted @jade.archie. @luciyi0r shared her experience saying, "I went to Vegas for a week and every time I looked at my cam, they were in front of it."
