'I don't know this man,' Rubina said; to this, he responded, 'I also don't know this girl.'

Rubina (@withrubina) was on the beach, trying to click a few pictures of herself. She looked gorgeous, dressed up in a totally beach-appropriate outfit, and was posing in front of the camera when an intruder entered her frame. The man, a total stranger, kept interrupting and touching her inappropriately despite her warning him to stay away. Rubina posted the video on November 12, capturing just how difficult it is to be a woman in a man's world, and it's heartbreaking. So far, her video has 2 million views on Instagram.

Rubina was standing in front of the camera, posing for photos, when a man interrupted, asking, "What are you doing?" She looked at him in disbelief and responded confidently, "Whatever I want." Rubina thought she'd drawn clear boundaries, but the man came again, intruding on her privacy. He stood beside her, looked into the camera, and took Rubina in a side hug without her consent. "I don't know this man," she said; to this, he responded, "I also don't know this girl." Rubina got herself out of his hold and asked him not to touch her again. However, the man kept insisting that he wanted to make her pictures better and posed around her. "Don't you know me?" he asked, and when Rubina said "No," he replied, "It's your mistake," while touching her again. Rubina wasn't sure about posting the video, but she did because she wanted her male audience to understand how difficult it is to be a woman. She wrote, "Some will claim I was 'too nice' or that I should’ve been more aggressive, but the reality is that 1. I was genuinely flabbergasted that this was happening, and 2. You just NEVER know what a man will do, especially when he’s being rejected."
Being a woman isn't easy. Despite awareness, women still don't feel safe walking freely in society. In fact, more than half (51%) of women have been touched unpleasantly, according to 'A National Study on Sexual Harassment and Assault' commissioned by Stop Street Harassment. While 81% of women confessed to experiencing some form of sexual harassment or assault in their lifetime, 43% of men also reported experiencing the same. Rubina's video sparked widespread discussion on women's safety. People in the comments called out the man for being so unruly around a woman minding her own business. For instance, @ms_yudee commented, "I would've been mad if a stranger touched me! You're far too kind!" @rollinwithdeesh wrote, "I hate this sh*t. Our reaction is to manage their feelings, but it should be to manage our safety. It's a f*****g unfair and ruthless world. I’m glad you’re safe! You handled this like a champ. Your confidence will attract all types of people, and unfortunately, this is one of the shi**y types. I am sending you cleansing vibes!"

Meanwhile, @redraven1984 commented, "It's so unfortunate you had to experience this. I am sorry it happened. Thank you for speaking out about it because most women don't, and this happens to a lot of us." @ericselectrons commented, "Drunk people tend to do this with strangers, and it’s annoying and disgusting. While men likely do it a lot, I have lost count of how many times I've been groped, touched, and even hit by women I have never met before or had known them. This is a human problem, not a male problem, like many in the comments are suggesting. And no, I’m not discounting the fact that many women experience this disgusting behavior from men, but we shouldn’t act like most men engage in this behavior either." To this, @letbrendain aptly said, "Not all men, but always a man."
