She revealed she documented the exact moment her relationship began, though she didn’t realize it at the time.

As Ed Sheeran put it, "People fall in love in mysterious ways," and often without a warning. Sometimes, those ways are so subtle, you don’t even realize they’ve started. Something similar happened to a woman during her climbing session. Bridey Chase had no idea that her routine workout would end up documenting something far more memorable, as reported by Newsweek. Chase, who goes by the username @brideychase on TikTok, captured the moment of her unexpected meet-cute and shared it with the caption, "She doesn't know it yet, but starting this sport leads to her meeting the love of her life. And she caught the first interaction on film!"

The video shows Chase climbing indoors when she suddenly slips and falls. As she steadies herself, a man enters the frame to check on her. That small act of kindness came from Lance Naude, who would later become her partner. Speaking to Newsweek, Chase, 30, said she had seen Naude around the gym before, but they had never interacted. "I’d been pushing myself hard during this session, so falling off at that moment from sore hands wasn’t too surprising. The tall guy with the beard was," she said. That day, they decided to go climbing together as friends. But it didn’t stop there.

What began as occasional sessions slowly turned into something more meaningful. Chase shared, "I had no idea how important a person he would be. We initially became friends and started climbing together in London and outside in nature. I think there's a lot of trust in the people you climb with, so there was a natural bond forming there of trust, support and generally just good fun." It wasn’t long before that bond deepened. Naude eventually shared his feelings after a climbing competition. Chase said, "Much to my surprise, I realized I felt the same. Since that day, we’ve been quite inseparable."

Naude, 28, also reflected on the moment, saying, "Although we didn’t immediately start dating, that fall from the wall was what kicked it all off. There’s something special about the moment being caught on camera, but really it’s everything that’s come after that’s been the most exciting." Chase called it "a prophetic moment." She added, "I quite literally fell for him. I think it shows a lot about Lance’s character in that moment that he came to check on me and make sure I was OK. His kindness has been a trait that’s continued throughout our relationship and one I think everyone should look for in a partner."

Viewers online were equally smitten by their happenstance. @osthryth.sews wrote, "This is so cute, the fact your first interaction was caught by chance on film!" @iffbg4l noted, "Idk what it is but the way he immediately sat on his knees and intensely looked at your potentially hurt finger was really sweet." @naomijanewhitehea added, "Gunna break up with my husband now and tell him to re-meet me in a romantic way like this asap." Others shared their own experiences or wished for something similar. @may_louise7 said, "Sadly my hobby is staying in my bed with a book." @princesszelda77 joked, "If you look carefully, you can see me crying behind the window in the background."
