Breeze's colorful hospital room reflected her vibrant spirit and inner strength, inspiring others facing difficult times.
Remaining positive is an essential quality for a happy life. However, during dark times, when things aren't going well, even the strongest individuals can find it difficult to maintain this outlook. In such moments, a small shift in attitude can transform an entire space. Breeze Hunter (@breezehunter) exemplified this resilience after being diagnosed with blood cancer. In late October, she was admitted to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Recently, Breeze posted a TikTok clip giving viewers an inside look at her private hospital room, which she fondly called her “200-square-foot mansion.” Instead of reflecting the sterile and somber atmosphere typical of hospital rooms, Breeze’s space radiated warmth and comfort—a cozy sanctuary she created for herself during her healing journey.
“Welcome to my crib,” Breeze at the start of the video, dressed in a green outfit. She ushered the person behind the camera through a wooden doorr, saying, “We’re going to start on my favorite wall of the house.” She pointed to a wall adorned with fan mail, motivational posters and an affirmation chart. "I love it. So colorful,” she remarked. Breeze then headed to the "garage," where she showcased two wheelchairs, explaining, “One is manual and one is automatic.” Sitting on the automatic wheelchair, she spun around the room in furry boots, laughing as she quipped, “Still working on this,” referring to her inability to properly control the slippery movement of the wheelchair’s wheels.
She then playfully moved into an area she referred to as "her master bedroom." “It’s very cute, very pink,” she said, gesturing toward the hospital bed. The bed was adorned with a green coverlet and cute stuffed animals, including chocolate-brown bunnies. “I have my stuffed animals and most importantly, I have my assistant Reba, Roland Reba,” she said of the external infusion pump in her room. Bringing attention to the wall behind the bed, Breeze pointed to a beautiful wall hanging. It’s a “masterpiece made by my iconic best friends. They decorated it when I was gone,” she said. “And they also made this,” she chuckled, walking over to a board wall decorated with colorful printed notes.
The video briefly transitioned to an intermission when a medical staff member entered Breeze’s room to administer her medication. In the next frame, she appeared comfortably seated on a plush gray sofa adorned with an animal-print cushion seat and a maroon alphabet-print back cushion. “This is where I do a lot of my quiet time. Mostly because I am prone to get blood clots, so I’ll have to sit up," she explained. Next, she introduced the "guest bedroom" area of her room, where her boyfriend, Connor, stayed every night. She spoke about his unwavering support during her challenging journey, sharing, “I couldn’t be more happy to have him in my life.” The camera then panned to the wall behind the guest bed. Draped from the ceiling was a stunning blanket covered with strips of inspirational messages. At its center was the phrase, “I am the child of God.” Breeze revealed that it was a gift from Connor’s aunt. "I absolutely love it. It is so inspirational and it helps me all the time," she said with gratitude.
As the video continued, Breeze highlighted more captivating details of her room, including a stunning view of the Houston skyline visible through her glass window. She also showcased personal touches like stuffed animals, vibrant flowers, cherished pictures of friends and family, and, most intriguingly, her walk-in closet. With palpable excitement, Breeze shuffled through her belongings, pointing out her collection of cute pajamas and her neatly organized drawers filled with favorite socks. Above the closet, sparkly balloons floated, while below, an array of multicolored furry slippers added a playful touch. She also introduced her office desk, where she diligently worked on her school assignments, and a nearby notice board where she kept her daily schedule organized. “My daily schedule with all the crap that’s wrong with me,” she quipped, adding a dose of humor to her inspiring tour.
All of Breeze’s room decorations were undeniably charming, but what resonated with over 10 million viewers wasn’t just the decor—it was her deeply inspiring attitude in the face of a life-threatening condition. “The positive attitude makes all the difference,” commented @jayme_b. @crystaleleshay said, “I love how positive you are!” “This right here is the best crib video ever,” added @cbarber_5. Reflecting on the hospital's approach to encouraging such decorations, @iveyjones wrote, “I love that hospitals let admitted patients do this. It helps patients heal so much, mentally.”
