Many of us head out on dates with certain expectations in our minds. We set a standard for the kind of people we want to date which mostly involves their physical trails and emotional compatibility with us. But a woman has raised eyebrows by revealing that the most important thing she does while out on a first date with a man is asking for his bank statements. Sofia Franklyn, who also formerly hosted the popular podcast show "Call Her Daddy", admitted to her controversial dating requirement.

On her latest podcast episode of "Sofia with an F", 31-year-old Franklyn revealed that she mostly asks her potential suitors on dates to figure out if they are on the same financial level as hers or not. Franklyn is not ashamed to speak out on how she wants to date a wealthy guy only. “I’m not joking, I’ve asked the last three dudes I’ve dated for their bank account info on the first date,” she began.

Franklyn was actually responding to her podcast guest Leo Skepi's question about her asking for the bank statement of the guys on their first date. “Because I only want to date a wealthy guy that has money,” she replied candidly, “I think, you know, I have a job. I’m very successful. So I think I have every right to be like, ‘Hi, are we on the same level or am I wasting my time?’” Franklyn's controversial take on dating sparked a debate in the comment section of the clip which was posted on TikTok.

Franklyn captioned the footage which she shared on her TikTok page @sofiafranklyn: “I think I’m just being efficient?” Her thoughts were not well received by the netizens. Even though some of them agreed with her, most of the TikTok crowd was against her controversial dating takes. @patarends wrote, "She said that with so much confidence like she thought everyone was gonna agree." @dominic questioned, "So If you don’t make as much as him, does he have a right to walk away because you are beneath him?"

@make_it_happen_777 suggested, "Sofia, you have a platform to change the world. You’re amazing in so many areas; please take time to look deeper look into happiness/relationships." @esieg55privtok15 added, "She wants someone who is on the same level, she works hard and makes money, she wants to see if the man she’s spending time on does have the same and has the same ethic or not."

Franklyn isn't the only one who has controversial thoughts about things to do on a first date. Another creator called Kate Swisher (@kateswisher on TikTok) revealed an interesting and amusing way to figure out what women are in for when they get into a relationship with a guy. She talks about the viral ‘grandma theory' and claims it decodes a possible future one can expect from their guy. She began her video by assuring viewers that one does not need a zodiac sign or moon phase to understand a guy over a first date.

“Simply ask them, ‘What do you call your grandmother?’” she said in her video. The first was “Gigi.” “They’ll have high expectations for gifts because Gigi won’t let you sit on her white couch, but she will make up for her emotional unavailability with extremely good presents,” she quipped. “You have no idea what you’re getting into. If he calls his grandma by a name like ‘Grandma Susie’ then you’re safe. You just need to have a really good cookie recipe." Hopefully, people can find their ideal suitors with these grandma theories if asking about a guy's bank details on the first date fails.
