Nowadays, most people in their 20s are achieving what they desire and settling down in life much later as compared to the previous generations. "Self-proclaimed researcher, scientist and anthropologist" Kayla–who goes by @kaaayysss on TikTok–shared a video explaining how most people in their 20s are not even adults yet. The video has garnered nearly 519K views and 527 comments on the platform. It begins with Kayla stitching a video with Lexie (@lexierainbolt), where she expresses how she is only 24 and how people of her generation are considered the "new adults."

Kayla cuts in and points out how the woman's insights were not exactly correct. She mentions how it is a common mistake that everyone makes. Kayla shares her perspective of being a "self-proclaimed researcher, scientist and anthropologist." According to her, there is a new term to describe people in their 20s and it's called "extended teenagers." Kayla explains, "And so, adulthood really only starts when you get to 30."

But even at this point, one would only be considered a "young adult." She concludes the 34-second short clip by imploring people in their 20s to "enjoy their childhood." People agreed with the woman's analysis and expressed their thoughts in comments. @silversasori wrote, "True. Psychologist here! Just at the age of 25 is when you begin to prepare to enter actual adulthood at 30." Another individual, @l.afinest43, hilariously added, "I'm 45 and not really sure if I'm an adult yet. I think it starts at 60." @alinegsrs expressed, "I'm 30 and can confirm this. I still work part-time and love staying home doing nothing. Don't ask me anything about taxes and bills."

It turns out that many women on TikTok have been talking about going through a "second puberty" once they reach their twenties. Ray, a 24-year-old content creator who goes by @its_rayy on TikTok, delved into the phenomenon of the unexpected transformation experienced by some women in their mid-20s. In her video, captioned "Biological Glowup," she explores this concept, which has garnered over 2.4 million views. It's important to note that this change is not puberty in the traditional sense; rather it is more of a slang term to signify the natural changes that occur as individuals grow older.

Ray describes her change as a moment of realization. "Let's discuss the second phase of development that women undergo in their mid-20s. For me, ages 23 and 24 have been profoundly transformative," she elaborates. "Back when I was 19, I had this notion that I had reached my pinnacle and that I was done evolving. It turns out I was mistaken." She adds, "Your body undergoes various changes and suddenly, you find yourself hotter than ever before, so embrace that transformation." According to Ray, it is not just about physical changes; your mindset may also evolve. "You'll experience mental shifts. Things you once thought you wanted may vanish. And that's okay. Embrace these changes because they bring forth an entirely new version of yourself."
