Parents always try their utmost to give their children the best of everything. However, one of the conflicts that children often enter into is regarding names. The names selected by parents do not pass the vibe check because they are either old-fashioned or related to things that children have no idea about. In Samantha Hart's case, her parents missed the mark by a mile, as in their pursuit to give their daughter a beautiful name they forgot about the concepts of first and last initials completely. On its own, the name is sweet and has never posed any issues for the woman on a personal front. The problems cropped up in her place of appointment as the name always inadvertently resulted in embarrassing conversations. Hart, who goes by @thesam_show on TikTok, explained in her video the struggles she has faced to date because of that name and asked for suggestions.

The woman started the video on a good note by informing the followers of her new job. She said, "Well y'all, it's official. I have a new job." In two weeks, she is to transition from her old role to the new appointment. Though she was elated by the change, there was one thing she was afraid of with this new opportunity. She explained, "I am filled with dread over this one aspect of moving to a different job that I always face when I do this, which is having to have the tough conversation about how my name fills into a company mail structure." For most companies, email structure involves an employee's first initial and last name. In the case of Hart, it comes out to be "Shart."

As per Collins, "A shart is when you fart and a bit of poo comes out at the same time." Talk about a party pooper. This is definitely not the message any employee wants to give off in their professional profile. Unfortunately, Hart has no choice. Every time she joins a new place, she has to go through the embarrassing process of setting up the email address and then getting called into a meeting where HR would request that she change it and have a different email structure. The meeting is always a pain to go through, especially when one is new in a place. Having a name like that is not exactly a great conversation starter. Therefore, this time Hart wants to approach this situation differently.

This time around, she wants to beat them to the punch. "I feel like, do I just reach out right off the bat and say, look, you're not gonna want my email to be this," she said, "You're gonna want to give me something else." In this way, she would clear the air before the company realized the mishap. Moreover, the journey would also start on a better note. She asked her viewers for suggestions on whether she should jump the gun or not.

The comment section gave her both suggestions and their own sad stories. @redheadedblonde_ gave her the answer to her question and commented, "As someone in IT - please reach out. When we have to rename a bunch of logins after someone starts, it can cause headaches for everyone, including you!" There were a string of comments sharing how they were in the same boat as Hart. @chris.littmann wrote about his poor name choice, "Clittmann has entered the chat. Have been dealing with this since college." @stutok followed suit with her story, "My name is Sue Hartlove, so my work emails are always shartlove."
