Woman expecting boyfriend to propose during Italian vacation gets an unexpected twist

At some point in a relationship, most women hoped their partner would pull off an unforgettable proposal. A man planning a special dinner or a holiday might hint that he is going to get down on one knee and pull out a ring. So, soon-to-be-bride Jae—who goes by @jaegetittogether on TikTok—naturally had that expectation while her boyfriend planned a picturesque Italian vacation. To her dismay, she returned home with no ring on her finger, but only to be engaged soon in the most unexpected place.

In June, Jae posted a video hilariously calling out her boyfriend for not proposing during their dreamy trip to Italy. She shared glimpses of the places she thought her boyfriend would ask her to marry. Jae hoped to be proposed to when her boyfriend took her on a dreamy boat ride, on the fancy staircase of what appeared to be a luxury accessories store, on the balcony with a beautiful night view of the city or while walking along the lovely cobblestone streets during the trip. But "where he proposed" was a parking lot of a football field days after they came back home from the trip.

As Jae was sitting on a portable folding chair in the middle of a parking lot, her boyfriend sneaked behind her. Both of them were wearing a Philadelphia Eagles jersey and the moment Jae realized what her boyfriend was about to do, it was a rollercoaster of emotions. He went down on one knee and asked his girlfriend to marry him. Jae broke into tears and exclaimed, "Oh my God!" She mentioned in her video's caption, "My dream vacation to Italy was just to throw me off I guess. Thanks to the Philadelphia Eagles for being part of my very special day."

The video garnered over 3.2 million views and many found it hilarious that the boyfriend chose a parking lot to propose. "Men are hilarious. He said that was for you this is for me. Congratulations!" said @tyla2911. "My husband proposed to me in a fedora because he knew I would never expect him to do that," chimed in @bigmommafromnyc. "I truly love this. I love how men plan. He was probably so nervous and scared and seeing you both with the football gear on just made it more wholesome. Something you guys both love," added @n.ugg. 

Turns out, Jae's assumption that her boyfriend was going to propose in Italy was indeed right. In a follow-up video, the soon-to-be bride explained that the parking lot proposal was "perfect" for her because she was a diehard fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. However, her boyfriend had originally planned to propose during their Italian vacation. He couldn't do it because he had sent the ring to get resized earlier and didn't receive it until the day they left for the vacation. 

So, after coming back from the trip, the boyfriend found the Philadelphia Eagles game to be the perfect opportunity to propose. He booked the football match tickets right on the day they were ready for sale. Jae emphasized that she was "relaxed, having her guard down" on that day and found it to be the perfect moment for a proposal. She added that she wasn't against people expecting their partners to make a grand proposal where they are dressed up and in a nice location. But Jae was glad that her partner knew her well because her whole family were fans of the Eagles. So, eventually, it all worked out and the couple are now hoping to have a 2025 wedding.
