'I want to know what the Vatican has removed in the last 200 years,' one social media user wrote, talking about the centuries-old Bible.

There is something truly magical about grandparents' attics—a place where time stands still and the past whispers from old suitcases. They are like hidden treasure troves, filled with unforgettable memories, heartfelt letters, vintage toys, and whatnot. That's exactly what Katie M (@sweatshirtgorly on TikTok) experienced when her grandfather uncovered a centuries-old Bible tucked away in the attic.

In the now-viral TikTok video, Katie captured her 88-year-old grandfather flipping through the pages of the three-decade-old Bible. Simultaneously, the overlay text on the screen read, "Grandpa waited until he turned 88 to tell us there's a 300-year-old Bible in the attic." Moreover, she jokingly added in the video caption, "I'm signing it with my Insta username." The clip received an overwhelming response on social media, with over 20 million views online.

Meanwhile, reacting to Katie's video, @gabbriellejackson commented, "Please, please, PLEASE document and post every single page! So much has been removed and destroyed in the last 200 years. This is a literal miracle find!" Similarly, @itsy2kitty wrote, "If you somehow make this readable to the public, you would be doing a HUGE service to us. Convert to PDF. Is that something you’re interested in doing? And please don’t give that thing to any government agency." @scratchitandsnif suggested, "Please don’t give that to the government without posting the entire thing somewhere accessible to the public. I want to know what the Vatican has removed in the last 200 years." @yagirlma1ia asked, "Post every single page of this, please. Make a blog or whatever we need to see this. Seriously, seriously, I need to see what the government has taken out. God is so good."

@summer..nights wrote, "Hi, I am a librarian. Do not give it away, do not give it to an institution, and do not sell it without getting it properly appraised. I’m literally foaming at the mouth at this beauty, omg!" On a lighter note, @tnunn7 commented, "Hid it from his own family for years just for them to post it all over social media the same day he showed them." @nana.gmzz shared, "I'm begging you! The word of God is our freedom, and this book will have so much that has been censored over the past years. Do NOT give it to just anyone. Money is not worth knowledge." @_xxsunsh1n3xx_ wrote, "Keep it safe, do not sell it, do not give it to any institution, read it, translate it, and publish the true translations; keep that as the source, hide away, and publish for the public a translation."

On the other hand, @neaaa_wow suggested, "You HAVE to preserve and share this with the world. You have a relic. This is the word of God from the 1700s. Imagine how different it is from our modern-day Bible." @filbodaniel wrote, "The value of that book is inconceivable. I’d recommend preserving it and never giving it away. Not because it’s a bible but because it’s a piece of history, especially considering there is Apocrypha." @.7_7b commented, "For the love of god, or whatever you prize the most, but DON'T TOUCH THAT! It's ancient; it does not need to be ruined by ink or any kind of marking. Just let it be. PLEASE be rational."
