An Indiana woman was cleaning her parents' attic when she discovered a hidden collection of vintage Barbie dolls she had always wanted as a kid. Well, the search came about after Molley Delaney (@a.mae.zing.things on TikTok) mentioned finding a brand-new Nutcracker Snowflake Barbie in the storage. That simple conversation triggered her mom's recollection of other toys she got for Christmas, but hid them so well that they never made it to her daughter, Newsweek reported. Her video has received over 9 million views so far.

When Delaney told her mom she had found a few Barbie dolls in the attic, it made her mother recall other toys that she might have hidden inside the wooden crate in the attic. Curious, Delaney decided to search further and, surprisingly, discovered a vintage collection of eight Barbie dolls, including a Fairy of the Garden Barbie, a Fairy of the Forest Barbie, and a Sleeping Beauty Barbie, along with an Angel Kelly doll and an equestrian outfit. While Delaney sold most of the dolls, she confessed to keeping the Fairy of the Garden and the Fairy of the Forest Barbie dolls that she was mad about as a child.

@a.mae.zing.things Replying to @𝖑𝖆𝖚𝖗 Don’t worry there is a reason, I have a good few more that I don’t have clothes for. I somehow thrifted most of these other than the princess and pauper ones, island princess and magic pegasus Barbie’s which were mine as a kid. #barbie #collection #barbiemovie #nostalgia #2000sthrowback ♬ Stateside + Zara Larsson - PinkPantheress

Delaney's mom confirmed that she used to buy Barbie dolls and save them for a later date. In fact, she had bought a couple of dolls even before her daughter was born. "It's nothing I could've planned or predicted happening. I think it really was just 'lucky girl syndrome' — it's something I've always enjoyed, and the fact that I now have an account that is growing because people are also interested in the things I enjoy is a blessing," Delaney told PEOPLE.

This isn't the first time someone has discovered something they'd lost or hidden after years. A PRN Newswire report states that 69% of American respondents mentioned finding another missing item while searching for something else. Interestingly, while 40% of Americans blame their age for forgetting or misplacing things, the study found that Millennials are typically twice as likely to misplace items as Boomers and a third more likely to lose items than members of Generation X. Although Delaney’s mother’s forgetfulness kept her from some of the best Barbie dolls as a child, the discovery eventually turned into a nostalgic experience.

Meanwhile, reacting to Delaney's surprise find, @_shanduhhh_ shared, "She hid them so well that she forgot about them — you’re so lucky, though. I've been on the hunt for a lot of those to start collecting for my daughter." @victorian.ghostchild commented, "My mom did this too! I was an adult when she said 'oops' and gave me a bunch of hidden, wrapped, and forgotten Barbies from the early 90s." Similarly, @i_like_chapstick wrote, "You all must have been rich if your parents could afford to forget they bought presents, and you still got stuff."
