Woman describing ‘purring’ to her boyfriend is hilarious and adorable at the same time

The woman had never petted a cat before and had no idea about what purring was and when she had to describe it, she came up with a hysterically creative definition.

The world has so much to offer and there are no limitations when it comes to learning. No matter the age, setting and time, people often have the opportunity to learn in the most unusual and wonderful ways. The simplest things can be learned in memorable and delightful ways. u/kingglobby shared a post revealing the chats between him and his girlfriend after she encountered the concept of a cat purring. While a casual scenario for many, the woman had stumbled across the same for the first time and excitedly wanted to share the news with her boyfriend.

She mentioned that she had petted a cat and then she went on to explain how it purred in the most hilarious way possible. “My gf who has somehow never petted a cat before described purring,” the man wrote in the caption of his post. He then shared the chat where his girlfriend said, “I forgot to tell you, last Friday, I pet a cat.” The man responded delightfully and the girlfriend hilariously responded, “It vibrated.” The man, a little confused, wondered what she meant. “Have you ever petted a cat before?” he asked her. The woman then said that she had never petted a cat before but was overjoyed. “I liked it, it was fun,” she said.

The man, feeling happy for her, asked her whether the cat purred as anyone else would ask. However, the woman wasn’t sure about what he was talking about. Trying to explain as best as she could, the woman nonchalantly replied, “It vibrated and made a noise.” To try and clarify things further, the woman said that her boyfriend had told her that the cat would react that way. “But I don’t know what it sounds like,” she added. The man then patiently told her that her vague definition was what purring is. “Oh, I like it when they do that,” she amusingly added.

People found the conversation humorously adorable and went on to add more fun traits the felines possessed to make the thread a hilariously interesting one. u/GreebleSlayer said, “What does it excel at? Scratching.” u/Sun_Sprout added, “An ideal companion.” u/ShroomsHealYourSoul remarked, “This sounds like those aliens from the comic that are learning to be human.” u/pink_faerie_kitten wrote, “You made me smile. This is so wholesome. Everyone should have a chance at petting a cat. It made me sad to think some haven't had that joy... but then happy your girlfriend finally got to! Purring is one of the greatest gifts cats can give humans.”

u/Annual_Nobody_7118 said, “This is so wholesome. True story: When I got my first cat, I was watching TV and she was on my lap. Then, she started to vibrate and I got scared something was happening to her. ‘Mom! The cat’s trembling!’ ‘What?’ ‘Yeah, she’s vibrating and making a weird sound!’ Mom, sighing: ‘She’s purring. She’s happy.’”u/Humble_Restaurant_94 hilariously added, “My experience was the complete opposite. New dog, never had one before. ‘Does she like me petting her? She's not purring.’ Many years later I still kinda wish my current dog would purr. It's a great indicator.”
