Music enthusiasts look forward to the first week of December every year as this is when the popular audio streaming platform, Spotify, releases its annual "Wrapped" campaign. It is essentially a statistical study of the amount of time a user spent listening to their favorite artists and their top songs of the year. Most people consider it a reflection of their personality as the music we listen to says a lot about us. However, one woman had a very unique takeaway from this as the report inspired her to create her own statistical "dating wrapped."

Amber—a TikTok user who goes by @amberwavesofbrain on the platform—made a PowerPoint presentation that showed how many dates she'd gone on in 2022, how she met them and the annual expense of her dating life. Some of the meet-ups happened in real life, but the bulk of them happened through dating apps like Hinge and Tinder," she says in a now-viral video. She also tried Facebook Dating and told followers that she "1000% would not recommend that" and that she would rather ask her father to buy her lingerie "than get back on Facebook Dating." The video has gained over 3.6 million views since being posted, with people calling it iconic.

"Welcome to my 2022 dating wrapped. If there’s one thing I know about me it’s that I love PowerPoint and apparently a first date because I went on 18 this year," Amber says in the video, before going on to share the statistics of the origin of these dates. "I met one in the wild. We kissed in a bar on New Year’s Eve and things really went downhill from there. Tinder and Hinge split pretty evenly and formed the bulk of the first dates."

Her next slide shows how many men moved past the first date and she revealed that she went on a maximum of six dates with one person. She even evaluated "Who ended things" and 50% of the time it was her who called it quits. Amber then shared that she cried over two of the 18 men she dated in 2022. She also revealed that she spent a total of $368.36 on these dates, with drinks taking up 33.3% and dinner 22.2% of the expenses. She says in her video, "I wish I had not calculated this number as what could I have done with this money? Literally, anything would have been better."

Women in her comments section absolutely loved her idea with one commenting, "Now that you've calculated the outcomes for this year, it's time to do forecasting for next year." Another added, "For next year you should have a performance review by sending them a survey to fill out." A third user added, "This is an iconic breakdown. I similarly love PowerPoint. Thank you for sharing."

However, Amber also got many negative comments from men calling her "bitter" and "unlikeable." Some even said that she paid far less than what men spend on waiting. This did not stop Amber from making another PowerPoint presentation, calculating how much money men had spent on their dates. Her data revealed that she spent an equal amount of money as the men she dated, silencing the trolls once and for all. Several other women got inspired by her idea and made their own "dating wrapped" and it might just be a starting of a new trend on TikTok.
