Starting a new job brings a mix of joy and nervousness on the first day. The challenges that the job might bring and the uncertainty of the office culture often make us anxious. That was the case for this Texas-based employee who goes by @flogirlfinds on TikTok. In her video that garnered over 2 million views in less than a week, the employee showed up right on time for her first day of work only to find that no one else showed up. "Am I being ghosted?" she asked in the captions and people in the comments found it quite relatable

The employee mentioned that she arrived at the workplace sharp at 8 am in the morning and for several minutes she couldn't find anyone else arriving. Turns out, she had to travel for over an hour and a half from her home to her new job in Houston. So she thought that the others were having a slow start to the day too considering Houston's traffic. Having waited for a while, the employee sent a text to her boss and what drove her up the wall was that she didn't receive any response from them for a long time. She explained that during her interview they had discussed her starting hours and that 8 am was confirmed. So, since no one showed up and also didn't respond to her message, she was worried if she was ghosted.

The employee's concerns intensified because of a previous experience where the employers ghosted her after confirming the job. After successfully completing two interviews, the employee had also filled out her paperwork for the job where she gave a lot of her information. So when they ghosted her, she was quite nervous about her information being misused by them. This time, the scenario being somewhat similar to the previous experience, the employee reached out to the internet asking what she should do.

Thousands of comments poured in with people sharing similar situations they had faced. "I got a job offer, put my 2 weeks in, started 2 weeks later, showed up at the agreed time, all doors were locked, no one was there, couldn't get ahold of anyone, so I left 3 hours later. I finally got a call saying she forgot they were closed and I could start the next day. I declined," said @katiebrown6303. "Got hired at a medical office before. My final interview and job offer was with the head doctor who told me to be there at 7 am. Turns out, the staff get there at 8:30 am, he just didn’t know," added @nagoodey. "Maybe they gave them an extra day off. For Memorial Day weekend," suggested @aimeebarta16.

After several requests from people asking for an update, the employee posted a Part-2 video the next day. She explained that she had to wait for nearly an hour before deciding to leave the place. She also hadn't received any response from her boss by then.

However, after she left, the boss contacted her to convey that there was a mix-up. "She did, in fact, tell me that 8 a m was a good start time and she was fine with that. She just forgot she had lost her phone that morning. She was having trouble finding it. So that's why she didn't get back to me earlier," the employee explained. So, that being sorted out, the boss asked her if she would start the next day, to which the employee gladly agreed. "Thank goodness it was just a misunderstanding," she said and was excited to start her "real" first day of work.
