She found 'DoorDash' texts planning a date on her boyfriend's phone. A hidden AirTag led her to an expensive restaurant — and his mistress

Love often wears blinders, convincing people that the person they trust cannot betray them. But for one woman named Stephanie, the red flags were hiding in plain sight. It wasn't until after three years into her relationship with her boyfriend that she started seeing them. It all started with a bizarre DoorDash text that shattered the illusion for this woman, ultimately leading her to discover her boyfriend's shocking double life. This story was later revealed to the world by her friend Daniella (@daniella.your.bff) on 20 and 21st June 2026 through a two-part video, both of which garnered well over 5,500 and 4,000 likes. 

The random DoorDash text

The story began with Stephanie noticing her boyfriend receiving texts from a contact labeled as DoorDash three years into their relationship. At first, she didn't think much of it until she noted that DoorDash deliveries never showed up. Getting suspicious about this contact, she decided to dig deeper and found a text that read, "Are we still on for tonight at 7:00?" To which DoorDash replied, "Yes." She knew that this wasn't just promotional messages from the business and that her boyfriend of three years might be cheating on her. The suspicion was reinforced when she found out that he was secretly planning a trip in one month with 'DoorDash' and her family. It further broke her heart when she realized that this could very well be the trip where her boyfriend was going to propose. Instead of losing her cool, Stephanie decided to "get to the bottom of it."

Discovering the private dinner

Lo and behold, her boyfriend claimed a work emergency on a Friday night. So, using an excuse that she ran out of tampons and there were some in his car, she quickly hid an AirTag in it. By 6:30 PM, she was tracking his live location, which led her to a downtown clothing boutique. Pulling up outside this location, she spotted her boyfriend talking to a woman Daniella dubbed "Schmemily" before watching both of them get into the car and drive to "the nicest restaurant in town." Upon further investigation, she got to know that her boyfriend had booked a private room there. Now, determined to catch the woman alone, she decided to wait in the restroom. 

The shared reality

For nearly an hour, Stephanie waited in the restaurant's restroom until the woman walked in. She broke the news to her, gently asking if she knew her boyfriend. Shocked, the other woman insisted that it was impossible because he was the "love of my life," and they had been dating for the past four months. She also revealed that he was planning to take her and her family on a trip next month, the exact one Stephanie believed was for her. Soon, both women realized that he had been dating them both. They then headed to the private room to confront him.

Crashing the private room

There, the two women ended up "chewing the man a new one," Daniella narrated. So much so that the noise drew the attention of the restaurant staff, who asked them to leave the premises. Leaving together, both the women decided to head to a nearby wine bar and spent three hours comparing their timelines. Following this, both drove to the man's house, where, instead of apologizing, he stated that he was still deciding who to take with him for the trip between the two. Needless to say, that enraged the women, considering both of them had requested time off from their work for this "stupid" trip. But what's more, when the time for this trip came, the women went on one of their own — driving along the scenic 655-mile PCH and a "little cute girls' coast trip."

Snooping or Snoop-not?

Nonetheless, Stephanie isn't alone when it comes to checking a partner's phone and finding something unexpected. According to a survey by YouGov, 19% of Americans have reportedly gone through their partner's phone at least once without their permission. Most of them don't feel bad, with about 73% confirming they have no regrets about their actions. The study further reveals that 33% of people found what they had already suspected, while 18% state that what they found caught them off guard. 

Good for them

That said, people were happy that Stephanie and the other woman were able to find out the truth before it was too late. @arihearart wrote, "Now that the pesky rat is out of their life, praying they both find their dream man."
