Romeo (@romeosshow), a caregiver and content creator from Seattle, unknowingly gave Dr. Pepper, an American soda brand, a jingle for its primetime commercial. Well, she, who loves all Dr. Pepper's products, was in her car, sipping on a nice cold soda, when she casually ad-libbed a tune, "Dr. Pepper Baby, it's good and nice." Romeo was so obsessed that she couldn't get the accidental jingle out of her head. Her girlfriend loved it, too, and insisted she post it on TikTok. Consequently, her video went viral with over 128 million views, and the next thing they knew, Dr. Pepper had her song in a new commercial.

Romeo didn't expect her jingle to blow up so fast, but then she saw Dr. Pepper's team comment on her post. Later, they also messaged her directly. Romeo was shocked; she couldn't believe that the soda brand could even recognize her. "When I first saw it on national TV, I was gobsmacked. It was awesome to see my work come to light and to fruition," she told CBS News. Surprisingly, it wasn't the first time Romeo had created a jingle, but before this, she had always restricted herself from posting on social media. But we're glad she gave in to her "impulsive" decision, because now, everyone who loves Dr. Pepper loves the jingle too. While Romeo neither confirmed nor denied, rumors say she was paid $2 million for her song.

Most know Romeo for her viral jingle, but not many know her struggles with depression. She had been fighting with mental health issues for quite some time, but things got out of hand in 2020. That's when she began posting her journey online and found people resonating with her. Slowly, Romeo started to feel better; in fact, she told Jennifer Hudson that she felt "less alone" by posting her journey online. "I started getting more grounded, and I wanted to normalize these conversations that we have around mental health," Romeo added. Today, she said she is in a good state, as in she is still on medications but has been able to manage her mental health issues. Her story is an excellent example of how important it is to have supportive friends and family during challenging times.

A survey of 192,633 teenagers from 53 countries aimed to determine whether parental support could improve mental health conditions. And they found that only (approx) 1 in 10 had strong support from their parents, but those who did were much less likely to feel mental distress and engage in unhealthy behaviors. Those who found support in friends also reported less mental distress than those who didn't have any support from family or peers. Similarly, if not for Romeo's family, her friends, and her girlfriend, she wouldn't have ever dared to post her jingle online. Moreover, she wouldn't have been able to take steps towards healing.

Meanwhile, reacting to Romeo's heartwarming story, @msevacute7074 commented, "The truth is, she was born to do this. Her energy is so light and innocent. She is so grounded and humble. God is so amazing. And this is her calling." @theofficialmonicasams said, "Romeo is such a beautiful and joyful young lady! Praying that she continues to be grounded and blessed in her journey." Similarly, @lwills8609 commented, "I know there must be onions around me right now. I am so full right now with joy and praying for her and her journey and her mom. I had never heard of her until the Dr. Pepper jingle went viral, and it stuck in my head. Made me want to start drinking fizzy sodas again (but I didn't). This was so beautiful."
