A mail from Harvard marks the pinnacle of academic achievement; for many, it's a dream come true. As such, a curious trend on TikTok has recently emerged where people are creating elaborate scenarios in which they are pretending to get acceptance letters from prestigious schools. In one such video uploaded by Giana Acquafresca, who goes on TikTok as @gianaacquafresca, a group of friends waits in front of a laptop while Giana is seen pretending to open her mail on the computer.

"Pretending I got into Harvard because we're bored," read the overlay text on the video. In the video, the whole group can be seen waiting with bated breath while Giana is pretending to open her mail on her laptop. One person in the back even pretends to pray as the woman fidgets on the computer. As soon as the woman said "Oh My God," the whole group gasped in pure elation. The TikTok user even starts crying as her friends hug each other with sheer delight. Giana's face turns red as she starts bawling while hugging the people around her.

The reaction video looked so real that people in the comment section couldn't believe that they were simply pretending that she got into Harvard. "this is such a funny use of free will," wrote @kooldogkaya. "the fact yall still made this believable," added @i8deeranklez. "WHY'D IT LOOK SO GENUINE THO," @AJ. added. "Not the red face and real crying sind this girl to Hollywood," expressed @Bryce Dalton860

Making it into your dream college is something that has the ability to immediately send one to cloud 9, which is why it wasn't difficult for the people in the video to mimic the reaction. In another story about getting accepted into a dream university, a woman went viral after she stumbled upon an unopened scholarship letter from one of her chosen top colleges while cleaning her closet. Madi, who goes by @luvlyymadiii on TikTok, shared a video diary for April 29. She sat on the floor and was going through her mail when she saw the letter from  Maryville College in Tennessee. "Going through my unopened college acceptance letters from October after cleaning out the closet," she wrote in the clip.

The real reaction to her opening the letter resonated with many. In the video, she talked about how she had planned to not attend the top schools as she would have been in so much debt. "I'm disappointed I never opened this letter, and college decision day is Monday," she wrote. Later in a follow-up video, she revealed that the admissions office at Maryville College had called her after watching the viral video. "They said that they were going to make my dreams come true," she said.

"They’re going to send me, like, an official award offer letter to my Gmail. I don’t know how they found me, but they did. So, now I’m going to college, and I’m just so excited!" Later speaking with The Independent, she shared how it was a mature decision that she had to make keeping her future finances in mind.  "Making such a decision is a lot of pressure for 18-year-olds. I am very aware that I am still young, so I didn’t want to act on such a decision immaturely," she said.
