Woman couldn’t make sense of psychic’s message from her late mom. When her brother reminded her of mom's 'code word,' she gasped

Years after losing her mom, Jeanette Thomas tried to reach out to her through Deb Webber, a psychic medium. What could have been an emotional interaction between the two turned chaotic when Thomas failed to comprehend her mom's gesture. Confused, she turned to her sibling, who immediately reminded her of a "special word" they had agreed on to stay connected to their mom even after her death. Thomas, co-host of The Breeze Auckland Breakfast (@thebreezeaucklandbreakfast on Instagram), recalled her bizarre experience on April 13. Within 24 hours, the video had already received over 84,000 views on Instagram.

It's been almost a decade since Thomas lost her mom. But before her death, she and her siblings had decided on a word, so if anyone ever went to a psychic medium, they could confirm it was their mom. "The word is 'prickles,' the nickname of a very special man to my brother and my mom," Thomas explained. As time passed, she completely forgot about it. In fact, when the psychic, Webber, told her that she could see her mom constantly pricking her finger with a rose thorn, Thomas sat there, completely clueless.

Nothing really made sense to Thomas until her brother reminded her of the word. "It was all there; Deb was spoon-feeding it to me." Their mother had indeed confirmed, repeatedly, that it was really her. "I really felt like that was my mom," Thomas confessed, recalling the heartfelt moment.

While many dismiss psychic or mediumship readings, others find a sense of connection through such otherworldly experiences. For example, a survey of 400 participants found that more than half (76%) of respondents believe in mediumship and psychic abilities. Among the 66% of people who admitted to going to a psychic or medium at least once, 22% felt the readers were very accurate, while 46% felt it was fairly accurate.

The debate about whether we can really connect with someone deceased can go on forever, but for Thomas, who genuinely believes in the afterlife, the experience was truly surreal. The fact that her mom had mentioned "prickles" as a word to ensure they stay connected to her even after her death made the radio host believe that the session was truly personal and emotionally convincing.

Meanwhile, reacting to the wholesome incident, @singingirlnz commented, "She was probably yelling in spirit, 'Come on, Jeannette! You can do it. Lol, how amazing is this? I am so happy for you, Natasha Pareraukawa." Similarly, @sickandtiredoftrolls recalled, "Debs is awesome. I did a workshop with her, went to her shows, and attended a talk she gave. Amazing lady and worth going to see."
