People might have heard about the 'girlfriend effect,' but this woman is proving that the wife effect is real with her husband's incredible glow-up in styling himself.
Throughout our lifetimes, we undergo various changes. Whether it is our body, mind or personal style statement, everything is subject to evolve. It turns out that having a girlfriend or a wife in your life can make an incredible difference when it comes to men's fashion. At least that is the logic behind the viral trend under the hashtag #girlfriendeffect. Similarly, content creator and entrepreneur Drew Jarvis–who goes by @drewrjarvis on TikTok–stunned the internet with a video of her husband Griffin where she recorded him before and after getting married to her. Needless to say, Griffin's sense of personal style, hair and even his body language dramatically changed after he was hitched to Jarvis. She joked in the caption that the girlfriend effect is "scientifically proven."
"The girlfriend effect is so real because look at my husband," the overlay text floated on the video as Jarvis looked into the camera while she was traveling. Griffin appeared in the next couple of footage, where he looked visibly younger. Before the transformation, he could be seen mostly dressed in hoodies and track pants, occasionally in jeans and oversized t-shirts and also, wearing a pair of specs. But then the transformation hit him and Griffin looked almost unrecognizable after his marriage to Jarvis. He had dyed his hair blonde and was sporting a buzzcut lately. He also had piercings, tattoos and a completely different sense of fashion as well. The TikTok community was left stunned to see how different Griffin looked from when he started dating Jarvis compared to when they got married.
@suszbyszek commented, "Finding someone who loves you the way you are and being in a healthy relationship can boost your confidence to try all the new things you maybe secretly wanted, but never dared to." @merlettesspinnerets shared, "I split up with my ex and got tattoos, piercings, a motorbike, then went to therapy. Pretty happy with the guy I found under there." @raquelgoliveira joked, "I always feel like they're getting free prep for the next girl and then you get that email like, 'Thanks for making me a better man.'" @jodyonfaya remarked, "Girlfriend effect? Well, my man got hit with the wife effect way too early, but still love him over everything." @ghost_3_actual added, "Me taking credit for the fact that naturally someone aged and progressed their style with a timelapse, as they would regardless of a relationship."

Jarvis, also the co-founder of the revolutionary menstrual cup applicator Sunny (@sunnyperiod), shared an Instagram post documenting her minimalistic wedding in the mountains with Griffin. The duo went hiking and camping and got a free venue in the heart of nature too. "Getting married felt so much like a choice and not a necessity for us. We wanted to make sure that the day was truly a day for us. With only immediate family and close friends, we could see each person's face during our ceremony, which meant the world to us," she captioned the video, talking about her "micro-wedding."
