In a hilariously relatable holiday mishap, a wife’s attempt to assign her husband a simple grocery task spiraled into a comedic saga. The wife, known as @epiblonde on TikTok, entrusted her husband with a "single task" during the holidays: a quick shopping trip for seven items, including arugula, spinach, walnuts, dried cranberries, goat cheese, brie, and crackers. What seemed like a straightforward errand quickly turned into an unexpected adventure, requiring her to take on most of the mental workload.

However, what followed was a series of text exchanges that turned a seemingly simple errand into a full-blown adventure. It all began with the wife sending the list to her husband. First, he had a question about the arugula. "How critical is bagged arugula? Got [a] plastic container of baby arugula," he texted. She replied, "That's fine. Also spinach. But [a] small bag." He confirmed he had secured the spinach, cranberries, and walnuts. But things quickly went off track when she asked about the arugula. "Where is the arugula?" she texted. Her husband responded, “I haven’t gone back for it,” followed by a quick photo of the item.

When she pointed this out, he just shrugged it off. Next came the brie cheese, but, of course, that wasn’t as simple as picking up one or two wheels of brie. He sent a picture with several options, and she picked the correct ones. But then she noticed something unusual: a package of feta cheese in the selection. “Goat?” he asked, possibly confusing the goat cheese with feta. “That’s feta, not goat,” she replied, showing a zoomed-in close-up of the label that clearly read “feta.” After some confusion about the goat cheese, she sent him a screenshot of what packaged goat cheese looked like. Finally, he found it—after a couple more clarifications.

The grocery list was finally coming together, but not without significant mental effort from the wife. When she shared the exchange on the platform, it quickly went viral, garnering nearly 200k views. Many people couldn’t help but sympathize with her frustration. @melwhited responded, '"Put the feta back!' I fear this would put me over the edge during but have me cracking up later." @elsalclements said, "I think this actually very strong and good communication. I love him for wanting to be the best and love that you know how to delegate to him and get your support."

@a_kelik shared a similar story, "This is giving me war flashbacks from when I had COVID and sent my dad photos of what I needed and what aisles it was in and he still got the wrong things." @evielysohir added, "This has never felt more real. I sent my husband out for 1 Ben and Jerry’s ice cream last night, and he came back with 4 non-dairy options. We love our dairy." @vanessavtoks remarked, "It showed up on my 'For You Page' and I was dying. Then when I was like wait ‘Eric in Metairie’ and saw who posted it, further dying."
