A man’s mistake with his wife’s birthday on her flight ticket results in an unexpected twist, sparking both laughter and concern from online viewers.
Passengers need to get their details right while booking flight tickets, as per the recommendations of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). People with information that differs from their travel documents may face difficulty boarding the plane. In a similar incident, a man accidentally booked his wife’s flight ticket with an incorrect date of birth, resulting in a dramatic departure. The woman in the relationship, named Jaime Wystub—who goes by @jaimewystub on TikTok—was left alone at the airport, when the flight they were supposed to board together, took off.
A widely circulating video showed Jaime, also a photographer, sitting at the airport looking surprisingly amazed at what had just happened to her. "At the airport, guess where my husband is?" she said while flipping the camera toward the runway with a plane all set to fly. She further asked her 1.9 million viewers to guess where she was stuck. “Ask me why not. He (the husband) got my birthday wrong,” the mother of three added. The professional photographer from Montana was not able to board after the date of birth on her flight ticket did not match her travel documents. The twelve-second footage ended with suspense as Jaime suggested her husband boarded the flight without her.
On top of that, the caption along the reel read: “You win some, you lose some.” The incident reported on social media drew a mix of reactions, with several people advising Jaime to stay away from her husband. It attracted 4,000 comments within a span of 48 hours, including from @Laura, who wrote, “I fear I would be the husband in this situation.” The video creator responded by saying: “Literally same, that is like, he booked it. Neither of us can be trusted.” Among others, @jojominne asked, “Are we letting spouses book flights? When did this happen? Next, we’ll be giving my children their birth certificates and passports.” “I hope there’s an ex-husband update,” remarked @kath.sierra0.
Hours later, Jaime posted another video providing an update about the whole situation. “I’m going to be on the next flight out,” she said, adding that the couple was flying for fire training purposes and not a vacation. “It’s not like he just left me. He had to go. It happens and I’m fine,” she reassured people who expressed their concern about her. Despite seeming shocked by what had happened, Jaime played it cool by conveying, “It’s not a big deal.”
Additionally, she reiterated that everything was fine between the couple and that there was no "ex-husband update." Jaime, who got on another flight, went on to share how it was the most "turbulent" flight she ever experienced. The photographer ended up staying in Dallas for some time amid a tornado watch, and the plane had to land in Oklahoma before reaching its destination. "Numerous flights got canceled from Dallas, including my scheduled flight to Austin. My thoughtful (not ex-) husband drove three hours to pick me up, then drove three hours back. He went to fire training the following day," she concluded.
