A woman (u/accomplished_iron241) faced her biggest nightmare after she discovered a horrifying secret about her husband, 13 years into the relationship. On August 19, 2026, she explained how her relationship with her partner had already turned bitter right after their marriage. But that last straw came when she accidentally found her name on a list of women he'd been intimate with, along with 40 others. The post has received over 1,500 upvotes on Reddit.

Love took a backseat

The couple had been together for over a decade and married for three. Everything was great until after the wedding, when her husband left for a work trip. He returned after 3 months, but later left again for over a year. "I wasn’t consulted, just informed. I asked him to stay, but he refused," she recalled. The woman had already started resenting her husband because, despite earning almost twice as much as him, she was forced to manage the household all alone.

In fact, when the woman asked him to lend a hand, her husband exploded at her by calling her a nag. His behavior took a turn for the worse when he finally returned home after completing his work project. "While he was away, I found him more irritable and quicker to anger than he had been before we married," the woman confessed.

A shocking list

Then the other day, the woman saw a flirty text her husband had sent to another lady. She later found many more messages sent to different women. Eventually, her husband confessed that he was talking to multiple women because he felt lonely and rejected but refused a physical relationship with either of them. However, not too long after the confrontation, the woman stumbled upon a list of 41 women he had ever slept with, including her.

The list caused her to wonder whether her husband’s “extracurricular activities” could be the possible reason why she struggled with a reproductive disease for years. In fact, just before he returned home, she was diagnosed with an abnormal Pap exam, for which she had to get a hysterectomy done to prevent the onset of cervical cancer. Heartbroken, the woman decided to end her marriage. "When I last raised separation, he walked out of the room and refused to speak to me for 6 hours. He’s doing every chore he ignored for years as though it will allow us to stay together," she added.

Infidelity by the numbers

Unfortunately, infidelity isn't uncommon. In fact, studies prove men are more likely to cheat on their partners than women. In fact, according to the General Social Survey(GSS) (cited on the Institute for Family Studies), 20% of men and 13% of women confessed to being physically intimate outside their marriage. Similarly, in another report, she outlined that 55.4% of cheating men reported having 1 affair and 16.7% reported 2 affairs. Just like this woman, 17.4% of the surveyed women said they were less likely to reconcile with their male partner after discovering their infidelity or extramarital sexual relationships.

Meanwhile, reacting to the Reddit post, u/GreenUnderstanding39 commented, “He doesn't want to separate. You didn't want him to cheat. Sometimes we don't get what we want. He's about to learn that lesson.” Similarly, u/CaeLynnith said, “He's chipping in and refusing to acknowledge it happened in hopes you'll drop it so he won't have to suffer the consequences of his actions. If you're genuinely set on divorce, you'll need to file, regardless of what he says or doesn't say.”
