Women often deal with prejudice and discrimination by society members. Be it at the office, medical clinics, or society in general. Medical gaslighting has been a problem many women have begun to address now. @mytwinadventures, who is also a mom, shared a video in which she spoke about how differently she and her husband were treated by their healthcare professionals. And the woman sure had a point that needed to be highlighted.

She began the video by saying, "So, my husband told me something last night that blew my mind." "He told me that he went to the doctor and the doctor asked him if he had any concerns and he was like, 'Yeah, I'm super tired and I feel like I don't have the energy that I used to.' And the doctor said, 'Well, let me run some sleep apnea tests.'"

The woman was shocked while narrating and then talked about her own experience. "When I went to my doctor, she asked me if I had any concerns and I was like, 'Yeah, I am in chronic pain, I'm tired, I have no energy, I have no libido, I have pain when I have s*x time, and I just feel so run down and defeated.' And she goes, 'Welcome to motherhood...Thanks for coming. See you next year.' That was it."

The mom elaborated she had two infections in her uterus. "Come to find out that I had two infections that you can get when you have a C-section, so for three years, I've been walking around with an infection in my uterus. She didn't catch it. My endocrinologist caught it in July," she said in the video. The TikTok user seemed very upset with her doctor's response. "We can't just say welcome to motherhood to women when they complain about being tired and being in chronic pain and having no libido. We've got to do better," said the mother.

The video concluded with the mom looking emotional and raising an important point, "Why do we treat women like this? This is expected that if you are a mother, you should be in chronic pain, you should be tired all the time. Why do we treat women like this?"

The video garnered about 349.1 thousand views and 68.8 thousand likes on TikTok. It is captioned, "Y'all I had an infection for 3 years! When I asked my doctor about it, she said, 'Welcome to motherhood.'" Many in the comments section resonated with her and shared their personal experiences.

@lahseeyounow commented, "Start by asking them to document in your chart that they said welcome to motherhood upon sharing xyz." @sketcy207 wrote, "I'm so sick of doctors disregarding women's concerns." @maddie_kins shared, "I've had some health concerns lately and my husband keeps telling me to schedule a checkup and I just say, 'Why? So I can be charged to be gaslit and they don't help me anyway?'” @jessbaileysmall expressed, "My rheumatologist said, 'That’s just part of being a mom!' when I brought up my chronic fatigue, fired him and found out I have lupus."
