Sometimes life surprises us with interesting plot twists we never imagined. These can come in the form of wild coincidences, unexpected and mind-boggling encounters we have with not only strangers but also people who are very close to us. In a similar case, a woman who was married for more than five years found out one fine day how she had met her husband during their childhood. Arizona resident Natalie DeLaere, who goes by @nataliedelaere on TikTok, revealed how she stumbled upon some preschool pictures that changed her perspective about her partner Colin.

Recently, Colin’s mom was doing a cleanup of their Southern California home after his family decided to move to the Grand Canyon state. During the process, she came across some old items from her son’s childhood in their attic, as per PEOPLE. It included pictures of preschool with both Colin and Natalie sitting next to one another.

In the video shared by Natalie, the two of them feature in three different pictures. It starts with the duo’s apparently meeting for the “first time” during their college in 2015. Following this, a second image shows them as part of a group of preschool kids from 2001. The third and final one is of Natalie and her now-husband Colin standing next to each other, posing in front of the camera.

“Finding out five years into the marriage that not only were we in the same preschool class, but stood right next to each other in the class picture,” the overlay text on the footage added context. Notably, before tying the knot in 2020, they both had known each other for five years. Natalie even hinted in the caption that she’d always felt a “sense of familiarity” being around Colin during their time together.

“Our families kept talking about how weird it was that not only did we attend preschool together, but it was especially weird that we were standing right next to each other in the class photo!” The outlet quoted Natalie as saying. She went on to say that the duo's energies matched as they “clicked right away” during their first meeting itself. After Natalie’s mother-in-law visited their Arizona home, she finally unraveled the bizarre coincidence.

While going through Colin’s childhood belongings like awards, photos and certificates, Natalie told the outlet, “That’s when I noticed his preschool picture.” They both seemed happy like any other preschool kids. After the formal photo session, they crossed each other for a good few years. Meanwhile, the footage has managed to draw some amusing reactions, including over 464K views and is still counting.

Intending to poke fun, @vanessaswhim wrote, “Invisible String theory.” Adding to it, @mamasita1054 remarked, “Him (Colin) playing the long game!” “How are you married and didn’t even realize you went to the same school? Lol,” @jonathanmc1994 asked purely out of curiosity. “The number of people grilling you for having never spoken about preschool with him! I’ve been with my husband for almost 15 years, and I don’t even know if he went to pre-K. Now I'm going to ask,” @mw.915 said.
