Husband grew suspicious when his sports-hating wife began showing up at football games. Then his PI figured out where she'd go next

Red flags were everywhere but didn't come to light until Austin recorded them red-handed

If one is suspicious about your partner, even small changes in their routine tend to add up. Something similar happened when a husband grew suspicious after rumors about his wife cheating began to spread. She had never liked sports but suddenly became a football fan overnight, making him even more certain something was going on. So he reached out to Austin (@austinthepi), a private investigator, to spy on her. In an August 22, 2026, Instagram video, the investigator unraveled the case and described the trail that led him to catch his wife red-handed. The video has since tallied over 43,000 views and more than 3,000 likes.

She developed a 'weird' penchant overnight

Austin, a PI trained by an FBI agent, shared that a man whom he calls Percy called him and sought help because he believed his wife was cheating on him. For the past few months, red flags had been everywhere. His wife was staying late at work; she was often hiding her phone, finances, and purchases from him, and they were gradually becoming distant in the relationship. And then all of a sudden, the wife, who hated sports, became a football fan, which was “weird.” She worked as a teacher assistant in the same high school where their son studied, but he doesn't play football.

Caught red-handed

Austin had a prior discussion with Percy about the best time to spy on his wife. They decided it was probably when she got off from work. The other day, while Austin was keeping a watch over her, she exited the school campus, jumped into her car, and drove around to where the school’s football grounds were located. At one point, she hopped out of her car and jumped inside an F-150 truck parked next to it. Soon, a football coach marched towards the truck and got into the driver’s seat.

Since the truck had blackened windows, Austin couldn’t figure out what was happening inside, but he succeeded in capturing a quick kiss "they gave to each other" when stepping outside. Later, on a Friday game night, he caught her hanging out with the coach in the locker room. The shocking fact was that he was also married. "I think the part that kind of sucks about a case like this is you've got two people that work at a school. Both of their kids go to that school, and they're both married. And this is what they're doing. On school property where they're teaching the next generation how to grow up living life with integrity," Austin said.

Extramarital affairs

According to a General Social Survey cited by the Institute of Family Studies, 20% of married men and 13% of married women reported betraying their spouses with extramarital affairs. The survey also reported that the probability of infidelity, for both men and women, increases during the middle age bracket. Similarly, another study published in the Journal of Family Psychology reported that of those who engage in extramarital affairs, 53.5% do so with a close acquaintance like a neighbor or a co-worker, just like the woman’s affair with the football coach in this case.

Both should be fired

Viewers called the woman “despicable” for betraying not only her marriage but also the next generation of students who look to her for learning integrity. @justval_1968 commented, “Dang! Mr. Football Coach’s wife should pay for half of the cost to you!” @oppp_guardsmen_never_die said, “Given the state of modern teachers, I was half expecting her to be banging a student. It's still bad, but not as bad as I thought." @mikemo917 added, “They both should be fired then.”
