Landlords are often seen as more concerned with profit than with the well-being of their tenants. However, one property owner broke that stereotype. Reddit user u/sweetesta***ole shared a touching story about their landlord showing up at their home with a heartwarming gift. The comments were filled with praise for his thoughtful gesture.

They began the post with, "This is a wholesome moment for me, and I wanted to share how great my landlord is." They explained that their landlord, a 65-year-old man, has been their landlord for the past five years. "Today, he showed up at my door with a parcel and said he bought me dinner," they wrote, adding that they couldn’t stop smiling.

They went on to say that no one of their landlord's age has been kind to them. Talking about his personality, they wrote that he's an "old man, very fit, active and maintains good social life." However, the best part according to the tenant was that he hadn't increased the rent in the last five years. "I'm basically paying the same rent as I was paying in 2018," they shared. They also mentioned that the elderly man often shares his life stories and talks about how successful his daughters are. "He often offers his brandy but I don't drink that," they added. They ended their post by writing, "God bless this man."

They captioned the post, "My landlord bought me dinner today." People in the comments appreciated the man for his heartwarming gesture. u/partyshopping4066 commented, "Amazing! Good people exist." u/infamous-guitar1090 wrote, "My landlord, both of us talk like friends, he ensures asking about my family, job and health. He increased the rent due to maintenance costs to pay. Else had no issues so far." u/misfitsunite expressed, "Quite rare in Bangalore, lucky you!"

u/noob07 shared, "On the good landlord stories, I also have a wonderful story to share. Our landlord, in the end, ended up seeing us as family. When we were vacating to move to a 2 BHK, they gifted us a sofa set and 2 recliners. Felt incredible. Just wonderful people. The only thing they asked is that we also help forward when we could." u/Additional_Side_2290 said, "My old landlady in Bangalore was so kind she paid for a brand new MacBook charger cable and adapter when mine got damaged due to some electrical issues at the apartment. When I did not even ask her to. Miss her so much."

In another story, a man who goes by the username @twoguystakeonrealestate on TikTok suggested that landlords should be tipped, but people on the internet completely disagreed with him. Some said that tipping wasn't a good practice while others pointed out that landlords were already making a lot of money. In the video, a tenant wearing a green wig can be seen completing their payments. When the landlord asked them for a tip, they refused. The man said, "So you’ll tip a barista who pours overpriced coffee into a cup, but not the guy who’s on call 24/7 to make sure you have a safe home?” the landlord asked. The landlord then threatened to hike the gratuity during the next rent increase.

People were completely against giving tips to their landlords. @RaptorDaddy commented, "Gratuity for a landlord doing his legal obligation is frankly absurd and likely illegal." @SamFischer wrote, "I have needed three repairs on my apartment in three years, and every time my landlord has fought tooth and nail to not do it till I threatened to sue."  @ZacWRexy said, "The hard hard life of a landlord, they have to wait for your rent money, and believe it or not they have to take phone calls and proceed to do nothin'."
