Once in a while, the internet comes up with something so heartwarming that leaves many teary-eyed. Recently, a "Lemon Pie" story has been making rounds on TikTok ever since its author- who goes by @sappoop, shared it last November. The author tells the story through a series of conversations happening between a young couple in love over a few years. "Made with all the love in my heart," the author captioned this story. It starts with the girl telling her boyfriend that they need to break up and her reason is - "My heart is in no condition to love right now."

Not comprehending what she said, the boyfriend tries to convince her not to break up. She then reminds him about how she got her nickname, "Lemon." Their love story started when the girl was stealing lemons from a tree at the boy's house and his mother caught her. "You came out and calmed your mom. You let me keep the lemons," she says, which makes the boyfriend reminisce about how she made a lemon pie for him and his mom to make up for the stealing. After a brief recollection of the story of their meet-cute, the couple expresses their love for each other. But soon, the girl tells her boyfriend not to contact her again and blocks him. While he is desperate for an explanation, the girl makes him promise that he will always keep loving her, contacting her number to update her about his life and claiming her to be his own.

Though this puzzles the boyfriend initially, soon he gets to know from his girlfriend's mother that she passed away due to coronary artery disease. After months of mourning her, the boyfriend finally moves on but never stops updating Lemon about his life. Four years later, he gets married and doesn't fail to notify Lemon that he saw her crying in the audience because "it wasn't her in the white dress."

But, the story takes a much more heart-wrenching twist. Seven years after he got married, the man was diagnosed with heart cancer. "Maybe our hearts are linked after all," he texted Lemon. With just two weeks left to live, he made sure that he kept all the promises he made to Lemon. He even baked one last lemon pie in her memory.

With over 7.6 million views and nearly 25k comments, this story got the internet bawling for days. People were comparing this story to the "I peeled my orange today" story, saying that "Lemon Pie" was way more emotional. "Who makes these? I’m sobbing at 6:20 in the morning," commented @def_not_jayden13. "Never cried so hard before," wrote @kendall.lk08. "I knew what was coming and I still cried," remarked @imconfoused.

Pretty soon, the "Lemon Pie" story's emotions caught on with many other users on TikTok who made videos showing it made them cry their hearts out. Jessica Walmsley posted a video that began with her crying uncontrollably. "What is wrong with that lemon pie story?" she asked with a broken voice and added, "Viewer discretion is advised by me, Jessica Womsley." She asked people not to Google that story especially if they had to do something afterward implying that they would get too emotional to do anything else.
