Video of dad quickly opening a jar for MasterChef contestant daughter gets us every time

Being a girl dad comes with the privilege of being the daughter's wingman, no matter how old they are. Because of this protective nature, one heroic dad saved the day for his daughter, who was a MasterChef Brasil contestant in 2014. A video of Elisa Fernandes resorting to her dad's help to open a jar has been making rounds on the internet. While she was panicking during the last few minutes of one of the rounds of the competition, her dad came to her rescue and people still can't get enough of the wholesome moment even after 10 years.

The finale of the 2014 MasterChef Brasil was filled with excitement and thrill with contestants stressed out about presenting their best culinary work to the judges. Toward the end of the time allotted to the contestants, Fernandes started panicking as she had very little time left to plate her food. With shaky hands, she was doing her best not to mess up the hours of effort she put into her food. Her parents, who were in the balcony, were watching the tension unfold and had a nervous look on their faces. Things got more stressful when Fernandes couldn't open a jar that contained an ingredient she had to use for plating. She was almost sure that her competitor was going to win. 

During that nail-biting moment, even the show hosts were anxious about Fernandes. Her family was cheering her up from the stand and asking her to try harder. That's when Fernandes got the idea to get her dad's help to open the lid. She dashed across the room to the balcony and gave the jar to her dad. The quick-witted man didn't waste a second and instantly opened the jar and handed it over to his daughter. Not only did he alleviate his daughter's panic, but he also helped her finish her plating on time. The whole studio erupted in applause during this moment. Thanks to the dad's superfast help, Fernandes went on to be the winner of the season in 2014.

The MasterChef winner is now a renowned chef and last August, she reminisced about the "jar opening" incident in her Instagram video on Father's Day. "Happy Father's Day Peeps! Especially for mine. I'm so grateful for who you are, always motivating me just by existing. I love you, daddy! My first love and the greatest jar opener ever," she wrote in the captions. Turns out she still needs her dad to open a jar and he still gladly does it for his daughter.

Even after a decade, this wholesome father-daughter moment still excites people. Many commented on Fernandes' video about how memorable this incident was. "One of the most beautiful and spontaneous moments I've seen on TV," wrote @alanahmar. "I remember like it was today! Me and my parents watching and vibing when he opened the jar lid.
