UFC legend Mark Coleman recalled the moment when he had to make life-changing decisions for his family stuck in a house fire.
Life has a sneaky way of creeping up on someone when they least expect it. It is what happened with UFC legend Mark Coleman. One day, he was enjoying his time with his parents and the next, he was carrying them out of their burning house. The legend did not come out of the ordeal unscathed and had to get hospitalized. His family was sent into a toss, grappling with the danger Coleman was suddenly thrown in because of the tragedy. His fans got equally worried when the news broke out. Fortunately, a recent update on Instagram showed him conscious and embracing his daughters, thanking the gods for the life he has been bestowed with. The emotional video went viral in no time.
The daughters, McKenzie and Morgan, set up a GoFundMe campaign for the legend when the medical expenses became too much to handle. In the account, they revealed, "Tragedy struck in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 12th, where Mark was awoken at 4 am by his beloved Rotti 'lil hammer' to a house fire in his childhood home, where he was visiting his parents." Mark soon got to work and carried his parents out of the building. He returned for Hammer, but unfortunately, it was too late and the dog could not survive the catastrophe.
The girls added, "Mark was life flighted to a hospital where he is needing lots of prayers to get his lungs clear." He has been battling with all his might to get to the other side of this disaster. The daughters requested his well wishers to donate so that they could provide their father with the required treatment. They concluded, "We are a faithful family and know God works miracles. Please keep praying with us that our hero has complete healing." The response was overwhelming, as within a few days, they collected $121,905.
The daughters posted an update regarding their father's condition on Instagram. They captioned the post with, "God is good. Miracles do happen. Our dad is breathing on his own. We still have a long road ahead of us, but we are truly thankful. We want to thank you all for the love and support from the bottom of our hearts." It features the daughters going into their father's hospital room. Mark is conscious but is still not out of the woods as he is connected to IV wires all over his body. The moment his daughters embraced him, he busted out with, "I'm the happiest man in the world!" After that, he began an emotional recall of all that had transpired.
"Sweet God, I'm so lucky. I can't believe my parents are alive," he said in an emotional message to his daughters and added: "I had to make a decision, Wes. Because I got out of my room and went to the door and it was already horrible. I couldn't breathe. I almost had to go outside and I went back in and got them," the man added. He is still reeling from the loss of Hammer and cannot come to terms he couldn't save his beloved dog. All of them were in tears but so glad to be in each other's presence.
The comments section was glad to have this update. @arielhelwani encouraged Mark to keep up the fight and wrote, "Keep fighting, Mark! You got this!" @justinicus24 commented some kind words, "This has gotta be the toughest man on the planet. You saved your parents, which is legendary! True man and hero. Hammer is in a better place you did all you could and more than anyone else could have."
Great news to start the day.
