In wrestling and fighting, participants typically maintain a serious and composed demeanor. Traditionally, before a match, fighters engage in face-offs to build anticipation and give the audience a preview of the upcoming action. Face-offs are typically marked by high competitiveness, often leading to clashes between fighters. However, Paige VanZant and Michelle Waterson turned their face-off into an extraordinary spectacle, leaving the crowd roaring with laughter. Seven years ago, UFC ON FOX shared a YouTube video introducing the two fighters with impressive records and statistics.

Waterson entered the arena, feeling extremely confident and refreshed as the commentator announced her titles, stats, and more. With a gleaming smile and a firm poise, the athlete made her way to the camera to get ready for the big match. As the crowds were cheering, Waterson knew what she came for, and her purposeful smile did not wither. After a fulfilling introduction and a hearty welcome, onto the arena came Paige VanZant, yet another beaming fighter with confidence and style. While the duo made their way to the center of the fighting area, they were warming up, waving to their fans, and getting ready to get down to business.

Displaying their strength, the fighters approached each other for the pre-fight greeting. As customary, both fighters were meant to have a pre-fight face-off, which was expected to be sturdy and baffling. As Waterson held her hand out to greet VanZant, the latter immediately went into a dance-off, flaunting a smooth freestyle before challenging Waterson. Waterson immediately picked the beat and the idea and continued the dance-off with effortless steps.

Going into the popular electric wave, VanZant delivered yet another comeback, and with the increasing cheers from the crowd, Waterson busted a few friendly and hysterical moves in reply. While the duo enjoyed their dance-off, they had to return to the fighting and sweetly greeted one another before the typical face-off pose. Leaving all the rigid and hardcore personas aside, the duo gave the crowds a fun and wholesomely bizarre face-off, which they enjoyed. Several people applauded the banter the duo engaged in and commended their sportsmanship. @Bfr3shBrian said, “It's always refreshing to see fighters not hate each other before a fight.”

@TheBasketballInvestigator wrote, “This had to be the cutest matchup in UFC history.” @wolb01 remarked, “Good sportsmanship goes a long way. Pretty good to see both opponents enjoying themselves and respecting each other before the fight.” @jeffm6651 commented, “I honestly like the vibrant, positive energy that girl fighters bring to the stage. Much less ego involved. They just want to have fun.” @19_stalkern exclaimed, “Pure class by both fighters...wish there was more of that.” @rawreson101 said, “Still, one of my favorite moments at UFC is a weigh-in/face-off.”
